Adam was able to free himself whereas Supes couldn't. Don't know why you think Supes being unable to free himself from being overpowered is better here.
We can not determine WHEN Spartan started his blitz. He had to locate Supes first and then blitz and that could've happened at any point. Heck, could've happened when Superman heard and saw him coming. This is a great showing for Spartan, being amped Superman physical equal. Don't know why you all are making this into a big deal.

You have a lot of IFS in this post when none of that was shown on panel. I don't go by ifs, I look at facts.
Spartan overpowered Supes by flying him to a destination with Superman being unable to do a got darn thing about it.
When did Supes overpower Spartan? Never happened. They stalemated in strength, Superman heat visioned him to gain an advantage and that was it. If Superman was stronger, he could've thrown Spartan off of him (just like Spartan did him) or ya know, just overpower/subdue him. He couldn't because even with his amp, he wasn't strong enough.

What we saw is Spartan grabbing a Superman that was turned around looking at him and carrying him some distance and tossing him on the ground. After that, Spartan lock hands with Superman ending with them both straining to move each other.
The heat vision damaged him. Before this, Superman couldn't physically over power him. Him being unsure on if he can take Superman out doesn't change the fact that he matched an amp Superman physically.
If I had to bet on the winner, it would be Supes, doesn't mean they are not physical equals. Superman just have more experience and a tool that can obviously hurt Spartan (heat vision).
I'm just glad Superman was amped there or the showing could've been four worse for him.
