Hell, if anything, I think they've been steadily increasing mainstream Superman's power level.
It's just that at some point, DC decided to simply not care about Superman anymore, and handed it to this guy, who plummeted sales, bored/angried the fans, disrespected the character and is a terrible writer.

There was an interview a couple of months back. I posted the scan but people discredited it. I think it is still on there though, dont know for sure.
Marvel has also confirmed about Thor also (which I hate) but I dont know yet because we really havent seen Thor fight anyone besides Sentry and Sentry right now is a beyonder lite.
The only real person that has had a power increase is Surfer and Beta Ray from what I have been seeing.

Gotcha and I agree. I really dont have a clarification for any of it and all either of us are doing is guessing. We dont know how fast that bullet was and we dont know how strong that metal was that stabbed into Supes.
I would like to see something stating or showing any of the above that I just brought up.
