Not a great mistery, Abnett AND Lanning wanted to write Heroes for Hire, and prior to that Abnett and Lanning had pretty much free reign over what was happening with Marvel Cosmic characters / story. No one could fill the shoes so Marvel let the titles end where A&L wanted them too.
