Ultimate Colossus, and Colossus Respect Thread

I wouldn't worry about that. Cap Britain is a "tank" also and he's a heavyweight. Thnin and Namor never even had a "tank" ranking either.

classic colossus deserves the tank ranking. Current colossus should be there with the hulk and rulk. he's the freaking juggernaut. angrir owned rulk while colossus beat kuurth.

Things just got worse. Looks like Colossus is fighting Thing on the cover of AvX vs. #3. Thing has no bussiness fighting Colossus at full power.

I'm thinking the power might start to influence him more forcing him to decide to not use it/rely on it and eventually he will fight Thing. If he is armored up on the cover, it could be just on the cover. If that is not the case, hopefully he'll be fighting a group all at once and The Thing is part of that group.

The cover has armored up Colossus fighting Ben and Black Widow fighting Magik.

Look on the bright side. He's battling Rulk, Thing, and Spiderman. For Colossus, that's a ton of exposure. I predict a draw vs Rulk, win vs Thing, and a loss vs Spiderman. I'll be surprised if he does any better. Only because Marvel has Avengers and Spiderman coming out in theaters soon.

I actually feel bad for Colossus now. Giving him the power of the Crimson Gem didn't power him up, it just powered the ruby down.

I think alot of people are jumping the gun here. We are looking way too much into the covers.

didn't colossus turn into a demon like creature in uncanny? any scans?

so if he is fighting the thing does that mean that ben beat namor in the 1st issue? The x-men seem to be jobbing like crazy vs the avengers. magik vs widow. colossus vs thing, namor vs thing...what kind of match up are those? I wonder if Colossus ends up fighting thor or green hulk when the series hits its climax

Interesting! The Witch's power is quite intimidating, but so is the power of another long time Avenger, Thor. Will we get a chance to see how devastating Thor is in action against the X-Men? Or will he be using all his power to confront something equally intimidating, the Phoenix Force? If so, what kind of battle will that be?

Breevort: As we've already shown in the preview of "AvX" #1 we've been running, Thor's going to be at the forefront of the Avengers away team tasked with preventing the Phoenix from ever reaching the Earth -- so he's going to be away from the team vs. team fighting at least at the outset. When facing something akin to the Phoenix Force, Thor is one of the very few Avengers capable of operating very comfortably on that level. But assuming he gets back to Earth and enters the combat with the X-Men, he'll be a pretty unstoppable force. I wouldn't bet on the Juggerlossus against him, for instance.

As someone who's had some interest in Colossus, I hope he doesn't take on the Thunder God any time soon, particulary in AvX. Breevort is meh, but he reads scripts way in advance.

As a Thor fan though, this did give me a chubby, I hope he takes on the Phoenix, holds his own and gets the Earth some time, then reappears in a Civil War-oh-shit-it's-Thor-we're-f*cked type scene and owns all of the X-men for a bit.

You won't be satisfied until you see classic Colossus back full time, will you? Just read X-men v3 if you want to see that stuff. He hardly ever goes into Juggernaut form in that one.

Please, everyone knows Hulk is the strongest there is. Only Hulk can dominate the X-men. The X-men will have Namor handle Thor.

Yes, because writers like Bendis, Fraction, Gillen have made it clear that they view Thor as only a Namor level threat and not someone who'd run a train on most of the line up.

Because both you and I know you've objected to the Juggernaut storyline from the start. So instead of taking another jab at it, why don't you read some X-men v3 and get your classic Colossus fix. Infact, his feats are far better now in that form. His Juggernaut darkside no doubt lending to that.

What? Run a train on what? Stop with that nonsense. I'm sure you can make your case without having to go there. Well, if that's how he's written, then it is canon. But I do side with Thor whenever he fights Hulk. I go with the underdog everytime.
