I know this got posted before but the links were broken so here is the Colossus and Thing Armwrestling match from Uncanny X-Men Annual 5. Bare in mind Colossus was supposedly only able to lift 70 tons at this time and thing was getting into slugfests with Hulk. Both have also already won once against each other with this one being the tie breaker.

When Colossus is confident in himself, he's much stronger than he's supposed to be, shown by him being a teenager, then getting serious, and taking it to Hulk for example, or going toe to toe with Gladiator.
Ben wasn't taking the 3rd match serious, he was laid back, relaxed, smoking a stoagie, etc... Colossus wanted to show him to respect a woman, he was gonna take that match.

You have to keep in mind that Ben at that time had a lot more experience than young colossus.
And ben was relaxed because maybe he tought he had it in the bag. 🙂
It's been proven on panel that a serious Colossus is much more formidable than one whose doubtful or unnatentive.
And while he had more experience than Pete, his strength wasn't much more, and you can't really have experience in arm wrestling.
And if they were 1-1 and it was 2 out of 3, how could he think he had it in the bag? Colossus beat him once, if anything, he should've been amped and seriously trying to win. Being relaxed showed that he was obviously underestimating Pete, which has gotten people rocked before.

Euh sure you can, it's not only about strenght.
Technique is also a very important part of the sport.
And Ben seems more focused, because colossus is the one who is distracted by kitty, before the start.
And heck iff they wanted to play by the real rule of arm wrestling.

No, Ben's ready to start the match, but he's not focused. Colossus was simply looking at Kitty to tell her he'd beat Ben, then he realized it was her and he lost all concentration, then the match started and he was still awestruck by Kitty, so he lost. If he hadn't been looking at her, he'd have been focused, and Ben would've been the same, laid back and relaxed.

Euh ben is the one who make's the remark "Hey, are we here to arm wrestle or look at girls".
There's something some people are forgetting and have mentioned I'd like to cap on. Oh and me and my friends armwrestle a lot since high school (all pretty in shape) because its fun and to out do the others and were as strength is a big factor it also has factors of skill, position, and stamina but its always better to forego all that for just a match of strength since the rubbing it in factor is always more nice haha.
Its true that looking at Ben he doesn't seem really into the match but its Ben Grimm on a psychically challenge against someone else, Benny always looks that way but the second it starts he's gets serious as its going then jokes when its over like in the issue.
Colossus also even back then possessed surprising strength when he actually went all out or entered a Berserker like rage thats more common to Wolverine. He's shown that knocking out the Hulk, going toe to toe with Gladiator (as someone mentioned) I forget the issue but he also takes on a demon thats literally four times his size and well over the 100 tons class and beats it after he goes berserker on its butt all as a teenager as well.
As for that third match, I believe Colossus would have won it if he hadn't completely forgotten about it when he realized that woman was kitty. As KingD19 said he was going to show Thing to respect that woman and apologize so he'd had pulled on that 'surprising strength' if he had to as Thing probably would his own so not to be the official loser if he'd lost two rounds.
In an actual fight back then I would probably give it to Thing due it his experience but it would be a hard long and dragged out fight from how close they are in other fields but now I'd probably have to give it to Colossus as he's closed that experience gap and possess more combat skills than the 'street fighter' style of Ben and is much stronger were as Ben really hasn't received any increases in strength since then.

Since you don't know much about armwretling like the others. It's much easier for thing to score a win because of his hand being bigger and he could use the top roll or the press much easier than colossus. I don't like to disrespect a guy, but someo people shouldn't say shit that didn't even happen

Top roll is a move used by the weaker of the two to close the gap between strength by controlling the wrist. Its a move I used to use myself so I know how effective it is. The size one one's hand does help but its not a deciding factor as I have small hands and still can beat guys much bigger than me and my hand. Knowning Ben though its highly doubtful he'd even use any techiques and would instead go at it with just strength its the kind of competitor he's shown to be like when he armwrestled Hulk unless actually fighting of course. Though yeah I agree people shouldn't talk about stuff they know nothing or little about >_>
Don't think anyone's said anything that hasn't happened just but I'm sure if you say so then you can find something.
In any event like I said before I'd also have to give it to Colossus if Kitty wasn't a distraction.
