The view regarding God that is set forth consistently in the Bible is this: He did not come from anywhere. No one made the Creator of the universe. He had no beginning, and will have no ending. He is the eternal, self-existing Being. The testimony of the Scriptures is this:

God is “everlasting” in nature (Isa. 40:28), which is to say, he is “eternal” as to his very essence (Rom. 16:26; 1 Tim. 1:17). His existence is “from everlasting to everlasting.” Before the material creation was spoken into existence, he always was (Psa. 90:2).

Give evidence to support that, and I'll consider it.

BTW, you can't use the bible to prove something from the bible. Doesn't work that way.

I don't agree to that

No. Because that is not at all what I believe happened. I don't follow things based on faith. Want me to think something is true? Give me cold hard evidence to support it.

You can't even answer where God came from or who made him.

you do know that god and christ are two seperate beings, dont you?

lets see. trafficking drugs vs. giving your life for all mankind. which is the bigger scarifice?

I believe he wasn't talking about sacrifice. He was proving Jesus was a criminal.

If Mist were to do something illegal by law, he would be considered a criminal, no matter if it was for his religion.

Jesus did something illegal. He was a criminal, was convicted, and punished. End of story.

Yes I do. I'd wager that I know a lot more about Christianity and the history of it than many Christians, as well.

There's nothing to prove that Jesus was divine, or nothing more than someone who was delusional. You cannot use the bible to prove the bible, which is ultimately nothing but stories written many years after Jesus' lifetime, and is heavily contradictory.

That makes no freakin sense to me.

what way? the bible were written and documented evidence as to what happened in the Old Testament and the New testament

ok here's the plan. we're gonna put everyone in a steel cage with mini bikes and swords and only one side of this arugemnt will come out alive. its the only logical way to solve this

BTW, does anyone here know that hell originally never existed? It was something invented by the Catholic church in the early middle ages (13th-14th century, if I remember correctly) in order to get people to convert and join the church.

Just as Christmas itself is just a stolen pagan holiday.

thats what people usually say when they have no comeback. it makes perfect sense to me.

Because there is nothing else that exists that corroborates what is written in the bible.

Documented? Since it was written AFTER all the events in it supposedly took place....I don't think so.

You used quotes from the bible to attempt to prove an opinion from a religion that is based on that bible.

If you can't see what's wrong with that... I'd suggest some sort of professional help.

I read that the Catholic church Hell was alot like Tartarus.

Back to the actual topic, are atheists going to hell for following a traditional holiday? Why cant they follow it?

But that doesn't make sense to me. It doesn' have anything to do with "comebacks" or winning an argument. That doesn't make sense to me--doesn't seem right, plausible, logical, whatever--and that is precisely the reason that I am not a Christian.

dont get me wrong, i am not trying to convert anyone here, i am just saying that everyone needs to believe in something. just pick something and stick with it, stick with your faith. whether it is christianity, atheism, or whatever.

okay look ppl i really didnt want to say this but a lot of events from the bible were taken from other religions and just slightly twisted to make it fit 😬
