I don't have a reason for being vegetarian. I was brought up as a vegetarian, but when I have tried meat, I haven't liked it.
However, I only class vegetarian as being a vegetarian diet. That said, I wouldn't buy a leather sofa or wallet. I don't preach to people, unless they make some dumbass comment on my choice of food.
I don't understand where hypocrisy comes into it.
I've been a vegetarian all my life & it feels good...partly. I'm a huge animal lover which is one reason I don't eat meat & the second reason is that I don't like the taste of meat.
I grew up being a vegetarian because my mum was one. I did try some mince or something & didn't like it but that didn't decide I was gonna be a veggie, it was only one bit of meat.
I'm happy & dandy about not eating meat, it's food that contains geletine & eggs (jelly, moose, Yorkshire puddings, cakes, pancakes etc.) Even cheese & onion crisps use to have something called animal renete in. I don't know what it is but it wasn't suitable for veggies.
Egg covers lots of foods so me & my mum are always looking at the ingrediants. I tell ya it's a right pain! I like jelly, moose, love Yorkshire puddings & pancakes, if they have the right stuff in. We make our own pancakes so that's okay but haven't had Yorkshire pudding, jelly or moose in years!
