Bah. Captain Atom has shown himself outstripping Superman many times. THAT, was written by Jeph Loeb, who writes Superman as without limits and that everyone in the DCverse wants to be him. EVERY comic he writes with Superman has other characters innermost thoughts all 'Superman is the bestest ever.'

Here's Captain Atom beating Hal Jordan. Note: Hal’s ring was running on the old process meaning that it had infinite power for 24 hours. When Hal said that his ring’s charge was running low, he just meant that it was approaching its time limit, and not that it was any weaker than normal.
