Don't get me wrong I like Superman but your talking about a Being 25,000 years old he is at the top of the Eternal food chain now add the cosmic cube into the mix and his enchancements plus is on going thirst for knowledge he is Skyfather level. He has had a few battles with Thing Thor Silver Surfer Hulk Drax so on and so forth

Superman losses to Silver surfer due to a technicality i.e. absorption of radiation/ the creation of Kryptonite.

I dunno, without being powered up by Death or the IG, or HOTU, or Cosmic cubes or whatever else, Superman would probably give Thanos a hell of a run though I'm not sure if he'd win or not, when Surfer went into superspeed to snatch the glove of Thanos' hand, Thanos couldn't even throw a full punch by the time he went by[interplanetary mind you]. When it's all added up Superman's speed strength durability and cunning in battle are nearly unrivaled. . He's a hell of a combination.
