TEll me you guys got the new Spawn Issue # 158 !
Major Spoilers:
1) Jake is God, and Katie is Lucifer.
2) They are both children of a Higher Force. This Higher Force is called thier Mother, but she is Mother to many Godlings across the Universe she created. God and Lucifer are but two of her countless children; she assigned them care over Earth, but they have failed miserably.
3) God and Lucifer have simply used humankind as guinea pigs in thier feud, instead of taking care after Earth. Thier Mother has many identities. She is Kali the Goddess of Death and Destruction, she is the Keeper of the Greenworld, and she is the Man of Miracles. She is the creator of the Universe, and Destroyer of worlds.
She had punished them by taking thier seats of power over Heaven and Hell, and encasing God and Lucifer into sleep chambers at a forgotten edge of the universe. She had them be reborn as Wanda's twins, so that they may learn what it is to be Human, and become influenced by a loving family.
God and Lucifer had failed to change, and were still the wreakless rivals they had always been, despite being reincarnated as human.
Apparently, Jesus Christ was another incarnation of this Cosmic Mother, trying to teach the human race the lessons of Love and Tolerance. However, the Churches and Authorities throughout history have corrupted her teachings, and only used her teachings as excuses to fight war and justify hate/discrimination.
4) Zera and Spawn's battle is put on hold, because the Mother deems that Spawn is not ready to face someone like Zera.
5) This Cosmic Mother tells Spawn that his final task is to battle the Disciple. She reveals to him that when Malebolgia fused Al Simmons with the Spawn symbiote, that she had secretly implanted every single person who died that day into his heart. She created the Legion, a force within Spawn, that made him more powerful than Malebolgia could ever be.
6) In Hell, Thamuz challenges Mammon's claims, questioning his ability to truly take over Hell. Mammon punishes Thamuz by making him feel the Agony of every single person he ever tortured. Afterward, Katie returns as Lucifer to reclaim Hell and threatens Mammon that he is in huge trouble.
7) God and Zera return to Heaven to the surprise and dismay of the Seraphim. God is pissed that the Seraphim did not prevent the Forgotten from entering and wreaking Heaven. God (in the body of Jake) summons the faithful, preparing the rapture by collecting souls of his followers.
His first choice is Granny Blake !
8) Wanda, being overwhelmed by all of this, commits suicide by shooting herself in the head.

Wow, after reading the issue I'm not sure what to think. So mankind is unique to earth mother thats why it came as Jesus. Theirs a problem with this, in an earlier issue of Spawn, he meets God and almost faints by just touching him. How could this be possible if God, and Satan have been trapped for centuries.

It's called retcon. McFarlane hired a new story writer back when 100 was being printed.
In the much earlier series, God did exist as that Lady...she was present in Curse of the Spawn, Angela Series, and many of the standard Spawn series.
As of now, God and Lucifer were out of commission for a long time.

I actually love the twist.
It was already hinted for a long time taht God was not as perfect as Heaven was trying to make him out to be, and the fact that Heaven was keeping his disapperance a secret was total Grade A consipiracy.
The characterizations of God and Satan seem rather childish, but hopefully when God and Satan appear in thier true forms, we can take the story more seriously...right now they are in the bodies of babies, and it seems rather humorous than serious.
The Whole Man of Miracles/ Kali / keeper of Greenworld being the mother of the Universe I was blown away by....that I thought was so cool, because it was the last fkn think I expected.
That means the Spawn Universe is so much more complex than before..as each world has its own "Gods" and each spiritual realms are smaller aspects of the grander universe.....amazing.
I like the twist even more, because its not Typical...as in Vertigo, God is the creator of the multiverse, and even in Marvel , TOAA is hinted to always be the Christian-like God....a rather typical and culturally bias idea which takes away from originality.
Personally, I am liking Spawn's version of mythos much much much much better ! 👆
