Which thread did I participate on a discussion on this? If I find it I will post it.Catholic means Universal, Catholics take that to mean the Universal Church of Christ. Christian is merely a person that believes in Christ as the Messiah. To a Catholic, they are Christian, but by their beliefs all "true" Christians fall under the blanket label Catholic. To use the term Christian is considered a slight due to the majority of people claiming to be Christian are followers of men who disagreed with the Catholic church.
That could just be taken as sour eggs on the part of Catholics. I am talking terminology, and historically. Almost every Christian sect and denomination believes they are the correct way, and all other Christian sects are at least a little misguided. Brethren, Adventists, Greek Orthodox, Witnesses, Catholic, Protestant, Mormon and so on. Fact remains, regardless of what each individual version believes - they are all Christian. They might believe they are the correct Christians, but that is irrelevant, a Christian remains a Christian ass long as they retain some degree of Christian beliefs.
I found this to be somewhat pathetic on the Catholics' part.
Propaganda really. They have to appear in control, and that this is all part of the plan or whatever. It is kind of pathetic, but one can't blame them for putting a positive spin on things.
