Well Topher was more suited for the role cause he had already been nerdy in that 70's show and he was very funny, which is what spider-man is all about...now Tobey got the nerd part spot on and did well with that but with the humor he just failed and the whole part of spider-man fighting style is making fun of them and with Tobey we didn't get that and even if we had it wouldn't have been that funny. When he was wrestling that wrestler he sucked at making fun of him, if it had been Topher I'm pretty sure I would've been laughing quite a bit.

Yeah, I don't think he said any of his witty banter in any of the Spiderman movies.
He had a few lines like for example when facing Green Goblin he said its you who`s out Goby, out of your mind. And another example is when he is facing Doc Ock in the bank scene and shouts out here`s your change before throwing a bag of money at Doc Ock. But I have to agree they did not capture Spidey`s humorous side enough in the movies I hope this improves in the future movies.

Um, did Tobey write the script? No. It's not his fault. His quirps were funny, despite the lack, but he didn't write it.

Really? Well I never knew that, thanks for that piece of information...*sigh* If it had been someone else a.k.a. Topher Grace then I'm pretty sure his...'quirps' would be funny, but Tobey just isn't funny...they could give him some pretty funny lines and he still wouldn't be as funny as someone else who could do a better Job...Tobey's good but I just don't think he's perfect and for peter/spidey you need to be perfect for the role...it's how hollywood works

He was fantastic in the video games, not to mention was good in what was given on film.
More News... Seems Sony remembers Batman and Robin...

Probably half of Peter's quips (not sure what a quirp is... I mean I know what it is, but I dont think that is what you actually meant 😂 ), in the comics, aren't really that funny. But he says his one-liners in the face of danger. It is one of the ways he deals with having his life in jeopardy constantly.
But I agree with stevedrules, Tobey was lacking in some of the important aspects of portraying Spider-Man. There should have been more quips...
Hell, throw in a couple quirps for Toku as well, I don't think it would have kept the same rating though. 😆

Who the hell are Michael Angarano and Patrick Fugit?
I am all for an unknown, but they sound like stand-ins for Brokeback Mountain 2. 🙄
