Is Classism the new Racism?

I think it is. I think nowadays there is more classim than racism around.

Classism? As in 50 percent of the people that think they are not getting treated well stealing money and such from those who actually did good for society? By means of the democratic process?

Yeah i agree, there's to much around there nowadays...where I live we call it socialism though (you go, fire)

I'm far to Conservitive to recognise "classism"

Hehe, I think he ment something different. You and your hung ups about socialism. Is Social welfare, equality and a lil bit of social feeling that much for you?

I think Bardock meant something else too.

I think I would disagree.

While both are at large, racism happens within classes - upper middle, middle, or working class, there will be racism.

Oh i love equality...that's why I don't like Socialism 😐

Also, Social Welfare is acceptable if not even needed....up to certain amounts of welfare....its gone too far here...and its not fair, soe people can use the system whuile others are in real poveryty but don't get what they need.

Social feeling is unnecessary and overrated.

In Britain the welfare state has led to a "slob nation". Where people get benifits instead of work, cheat the system and breed like rabbits to get more money.

Your on a whole other scale, but it sounds like you know what I mean but you felt you had to blow a little steam, it's ok.

What I say classism is, is when some one treats another differently because one is more affluent than the other and vise versa.

Like say for example. Like with racism you have the Black/White issue but with Clasism it's the socioeconomic issue.

Like say for example that a rich and well dress Black guy walks into the most luxurious hotel in town to spend one night cause he can clearly afford to do so. Racism steps out the window. But if a low income white guy were to walk into that same hotel and had the money to spend one night at that hotel, he'd get the ill treatment, merely because he doesn't look affluent.

I'm telling you I see it all the time now, In restaurants. A waiter would serve an affluent looking Japanese couple over regular looking French people, even if the person had a prejudice about Japanese people.

True, racism is still around but it's less evident than before. But the richer or poorer you are, the less apparent racism becomes an issue and classism takes hold.

In those examples they would only treat the richer people better in order to get bigger tips.

And what your saying is rubbish, if a rich black man in a suit walks down a street he will recive the same amount of racial abuse as he would if he was poor.

Um,.. doesn't socialism mean equality?

nope it means protect the rights of the lower classes and tax the upper classes to provide for them.

On the contrary.....socialism is not equality it's the most unfair system I know.

But alright, now to your real question. I'd say Classism is a real problem but its not on a large scale liuke Racism was in earlier years...and still is in some parts.

No, rascism is still very much alive all over the world.

That's ridiculous for you to say that, what if the regular looking French couple tipped way better. And what If the rich Japanese couple didn't tip at all. The ill notion classism comes with is the fact that since he's affluent he's a better person than he even, even if I don't know the 2, yet the less affluent person would be the better pick at times. Understand?

I think how you think is rubbish, NBA stars and rich black actor are treated like gold. Do you think if people saw Micheal Jordon or Denzel Washington walking down a street they'd say "That N*****"? No way! They'd say "Holy Shit Hey, I Love Your Work!"

Your very ignorant to say that a rich black man would get treated in the same way a poor black man would. That's BS.

I was refering to normal people not the famous, If I was a hotel manager and I saw a rich person and a poor person come in I would treat the richer person better because I want
1. Their future custom.
2. If they tip then they can afford to tip more.

I never said racism was dead, it is very much still alaive and as far as i'm concerned, it'll be around forever. But racism is less apparent now than it was in the mid-20th century. Now it's more subtle. But Classism is blatant. Maybe i'm the only one that sees it.

Just another example. Department stores wreak of classism. The usual following around if you don't look affluent, yet your actually there to buy something high end. In that case, it doesn't matter what race you are, it's about class. But racism is still around, no doubt. I just see more Classism, maybe it's just my city I live in.

The first thing could be taken very wrong.

And I didn't get your example, you should clarify it a bit.

but why, based on looks. Lets say he's a regular person this poor person.

How do you know if the regular guy is financially free or not. And gave a better tip. There a millions of millionaire who drive shit boxes and dress regular, you be surprised how many rich people walk regularly amoung us just as normally.

What if the rich guy is a fop in debt up to his forehead and didn't tip at all.

Not to get personal but what you wrote are classists statements. I would not hire you as a Hotel manager because you would be bad for my business. Instead of trying to get to know what their status is by getting to know the person or persons instead of pre judging, you go by if they seem affluent. or if they affluent, because of that, that they are the better of the 2. It's bs. And not good for business.

Well I'm afraid my physic powers aren't that good so I have to rely on appearances.

Also what you just said means that "classism" can't possibly be an issue.
