Yes but i heard if he did sign up for it...it would be Sin City 3....not Sin City 2! because Johnny is pretty much booked for the next 2 years!

I doubt that rumor is true. Him being in Sin City 2. If that was true then I'm a flying chihuahua.

Maybe or maybe not....but Johnny had shown intrest in being Sin City 1....but because of schedualing differences he couldnt....but it's something he's been considering....so u never know!

awww, I couldn't sit through that, even for him lol ....well, maybe I could...but I'm still not a fan of it. lol 馃檨

yay sin City. I like this movie it was different but cool

I think it will be cool for johnny to be in Sin city. Maybe unliky but still it would be nice!! in my opinion though

Ya as long as he doesnt get slaughtered though...lmao!

you can fly?! lol

lmao

IBD43 that'a pretty funny. But, I read somewhere this weekend that he is seriously considering Sin City, so Chiki you better watch out. lol. You may start levitating.

BTW the chihuahua that lives across the road from me barks and wags his tail at the same time. So, my question is can chihuahua's fly, bark and wag their tails at the same time?lol

I don't know anything about Sin City. Is it about crime fighters or are the characters evil?

Umm, both?

I think JD needs to play an evil character on Batman. I think he would make a perfect penguin.

Dimension Lets Sin City 2 Rights Expire?

Source:IESB April 22, 2009

IESB is reporting an interesting rumor saying that The Weinstein Company's Dimension Films has let the film rights for Sin City 2 expire:

The specifics are not clear but some details are emerging that the movie will now be financed by a private equity group and an announcement is expected soon.

Robert Rodriguez' Trouble Maker studios will still produce the film.

No word on what studio may end up distributing. Universal Studios' name has come up as a possible contender.

The first film, released in April of 2005, was both a critical and financial success. Made for about $40 million, the graphic novel adaptation earned $158.8 million worldwide.

UPDATE #1: MTV has debunked the above story from IESB with an official statement from The Weinstein Company attorney Bert Fields:

"TWC's rights to produce sequels to Sin City remain intact as they always have been. Any suggestion to the contrary is complete hogwash."

UPDATE #2: The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Hollywood producers have been shopped the rights by representatives for Frank Miller's estate, who they say are seeking a new place to set up a potential follow-up. The Weinstein Company, however, on Wednesday said it stood by its statement above

Yes... he does so closely the Penguin, after all. The similarity is truly striking. It's almost as close as his likeness to Inspector Abberline...

I look forward to Sin City 2, though. Not so much to the pre-release, or at least pre-casting, hype from all the absolutely terrifying Johnny Depp obsessives...
