Thats true. Jacope X has learned the very hard way and has been diciplined to never give up. When he was an X blade, he was treated very badly but for a good cause. He learned power, energy and couldve learned magic but at the time, he learned about the negatives about magic and reufused to even have magic within him. His only strenght is heart and his only weakness is painful fortunes.
Yeah, Ice was simply trained to never give up. I think I figured out the reason why Kate needs to pick a side sooner or later. It's because that when both of her powers reach their top level, they'll destroy eachother and Kate along with them, and the world will end, again. So, she has to pick a side so that only one will reach its top level and destroy the weaker power, and having Kate live.
