I'm not necessarily disagreeing with all that Raven is saying, she's just wrong about the "bands aren't as good, it's all about image" thing. That's not the case.

My whole point was that nobody is WRONG for watching these shows, but if you make the choice to watch them, then admit what they are. Don't try to defend it to make yourself look better.

Lets face it: whoever wins American Idol will jsut be the next bland pop act, and will surface for a few weeks and then be forgotten.

They do nothing unique. They dont write their own music. And they only perform the vocals, which should be no more important than the rest of the music.

And I'll bet you've never taken the time to really seek out any good bands that are around today. Because if you did, you'd know that there are a great many that are good and do not rely on image and rather on talent.

Exactly. Give them an instrument, ask them to write their own song, tell them to sing a style other than pop....they'd be completely lost because they wouldn't know how to.
