Batman Begins.........Horrible "reinvention".

Yeah I wont argue that it was crap.Like I said, they all were horrible in one way or another. They ALL had horrible casting choices something that Nolan finally rectified,as I have said so many times before, thank god for nolan,a guy who actually cared about the fans. The thing that mostly ruined forever for me was AGAIN,a great character was ruined with horrible casting,Burton did it with keaton as bats, then even though schumacher did a much better job of getting someone who actually resembled the role of bruce wayne, like burton,he ruined it with me mostly because of the horrible casting choice of o'donnel as robin. The guy was wayyyyyy too old to be adopted, him and bruce looked about the same age for god sakes!!! and has always been a horrible actor. some people around here say-no robin in a batman begins sequel.I say yes to robin, just no to o'donnel as robin.with nolan directing,I have faith he would pull off robin and make it look good onscreen, people just need to get the horrible casting choice of o'donnel out of their minds and realise that robin would be great in a sequel.Hell Nolan redeemed the nightmare franchise of the burton/schumacher debacle and we FINALLY got a great batman movie. It would be crazy to say he could not do the same thing with robin.

I know! I thought O'Donnell was Kikmer/ Clooney's gay lover rather than adopoted son!

What can i say besides.......its the best Batman movie along the first by Burton.

Yeah i liked it.

Even O'Donnell? The10 year old boy... hes menat to be like 10!

Clearly, the creator of this thread doesnt have any idea about what batman means and how is he in the comics. Because the Nolan movie was not only a very loyal movie to the character and his mithos, but it was a great movie with great casting choices, great script and great performances. Something that didnt exist in those garbage movies directed by burton or schumacher.

Don't get me started on the casting of BB...

Katie Holmes??? All she did was walk around with a stick up her @ss and be a total bi@tch the entire movie! That's it, that was the extent of her acting skills in it...

And Christian Bale was all wrong in it, I don't know what it was about him that irked me so... his voice, the way he looked in the suit... just wrong!

And Scarecrow! What the hell was up with that casting choice? Okay, I love Cillian but he wasn't right for the part, he did his best for it and made it good but he's too young and too short for the part!

There's plenty more I could say but I'm too tired to go into it...

please, explain to us when she was a b!tch, the only times I recall her being rude was when she learned bruce was going to kill falcone.I would say that is a good cause to be angry with someone, hardly a b!tch though.

Okay I have heard people say they did not like Bales voice as batman, mainly when he shouted.I think you just got to look past how Keaton sounded as bats because your so used to hearing his voice all the time.At first I had a hard time adjusting to the new voice as well because it was so different than Kilmer or keatons portrayel but eventually by the second viewing,I got used to it and it grew on me.I mean he DID sound mean and intimidating like Batman should. As long as you dont say Keaton was perfect for the role, then I can respect your criticisem of Bale. and can take you serious.Lol

okay I can respect this criticisem you have of Cillian as Scarecrow as well,I dont agree with it,but its at least valid unlike cascaders are so I can respect these last two because they have validity in them unlike the first one.You didnt like him but you at least time gave valid reasons for it like you did with Bale.

Okay... I shall now give valid criticism to why I believe she was a b*tch... well she was never satisfied with Bruce, first he wasn't himself enough for her then he was himself but not the "self" she wanted him to be... she was never satisfied! And she just never seemed to be comfortable... hence the stick up the ass comment...

She was not a good leading lady, if you can even call her that. The way she played the character had no dimension and personally gave no way for me to even care about her character, not even a little bit.

For once I agree with you Mr. Parker. Batman Begins is what a Batman movie is SUPPOSED to be. After Schumacher, figuratively speaking, shoved a stick of dynamite up the franchise's a$$, Nolan made it watchable again.

Cillian wasn't a bad Scarecrow at all. He was, I think, the best comic book villiain portrayed on screen so far. His acting was amazing and he actually managed to make the character not seem cheesy by any means, a feat nearly impossible when dealing with this sort of genre. I'll give you he wasn't tall and gawky like you'd picture Crane being, but you can't criticize Cillian for looking good. It's the acting that's important and the way Crane turned out is totally perfect in my opinion.

I agree, he did make the part amazing, the way he acted it was perfect and did make the character serious and not cheesy in any way, I was merely commenting on how he doesn't resemble Scarecrow's physicality in a comic book sense... but I am glad they chose him for the part, he made the movie worth watching.

^he was definitely disturbing, as Jonathan Crane should be.

was that lipstick on him??? I think all my friends were asking that when they saw him. 😛

As for Katie Holmes, criticism of her character portrayal is rampant so this is how I'll sum it up. She just wasn't as likeable compared to all the past female costars. She wasn't flirty (Kidman), wasn't catty (Pfeiffer--no pun intended), or comical (Thurman). She was just....there...and kinda cold and bland.

What? Lipstick? I'm confused, lol...

i guess they just noticed his lips were really shiny..i meant to say "lip gloss"

LOL! I see... yeah he did have bit too much make up on, my uncle noticed it to, he was like "is he wearing eye shadow?"

LOL!

That movie was perfect. Lord Magnus has spoken.

Cillian's just so pretty..I love him.

\I thought Katie Holmes was good as rachel... she seemed a reasonable charcater but the "its not what you are underneath..." thing seemed a bit cowy!

For batman begins bashers...Batman Begins is pointed as 36th best film of all time in Empire and Tim Burton's movies aren't even in the top 200, so stop bashing it...same counts for the ones who are bashing tim Burton films...because it's not in the top 200 doesn't make it a bad movie...This is just fact! But just respect each others opinions...If batman fans like the tim burton films better so be it...Everybody has a different opinion of Batman.

well actually schumacher didnt commit anywhere near as many sins with the batflicks as burton did, michael keaton was the worst casting choice in comicbook history, total wrong build and wrong look, didnt even come close to fitting the role, kilmer at least loooked the role so he was at least believeable in it.Kilmer made a much better bruce wayne than keaton did so I hate schumacher the lesser of the two.
