He can't walk! It's canon -- he was sitting!! He loses to any non paraplegic!

🙄

nova can not destro stars that was bull, even thanos cant really do that unless PIS powered. having said that, he rather easily takes this fight, superman with the green lantern ring might stand more of a chance of beating him but even that is debateable.

How is that bull? That's the type of work heralds are commissioned to do. Is surfer resurrecting a planet bull? Is galactus eating planets bull? I have seen nothing in any comic inconsistent with this power. Heralds are cosmic beings that fly around the galaxy preparing solar systems for galactus' dinner.

These guys are just on a totally different power level. Superman fights planetary threats, not cosmic threats.

I never saw Thanos fly, not even once.

Of course I haven't read all his appearances in comics, but still, I really don't think he can fly.

I think he can levitate.

How about running, guys? Can thanos run? He's never run in any of his appearances.

"I never saw Thanos run, not even once."

Nonsense. Everybody can run, not everybody can fly.

For those who claim Thanos can fly : sure, no prob. But show us some scans that prove beyond a doubt he actually can fly, and not the old "I think I saw him levitate once".

You're missing the point.

Every cosmic energy wielder, and every eternal, can fly. Thanos is a MUTANT eternal with VASTLY more power at birth, power that he subsequently amplified EXPONENTIALLY after being exiled. Saying he (as an eternal with cosmic energy more powerful than the silver surfer) can't fly amounts to saying that a human can't run, walk, or even stand.

These arguments border on idiocy.

Thanos isn't even affected by hellfire...

No, you are missing the point, not me. You assume every Eternal can fly. Maybe so, but I am not talking about the rest of the Eternals, I am talking about THE Eternal, Thanos (and every Eternal is different by the way).

And I never saw him fly. For somebody with as many comic appearances as him, one would think he should have flown at least once or so. No. Nothing. The man walks, just like you and me. Or levitates a few meters lol. Or uses his hovering chair.

And yes, in the IG-saga, he did float helplessly in space. That's a fact.

This is all very strange behaviour for somebody who can "fly". Or am I missing the point again ?

Every eternal can fly. This has been stated, and, for example, is included in the marvel directory. Unless thanos is actually inferior to every eternal, despite the fact that he killed every one of them by himself, he also can fly.

When you fight tyrant, galactus, walker, etc, flying is irrelevant. You are still thinking in the wrong league. Flying is about as useful as swinging a baseball bat in these fights. Presumably, thanos can swing a baseball bat, though that has never been shown.

He was floating in space for a few moments, and states that he will spend an eternity helpless in space. This tells you exactly nothing, given that he had just lost the infinity gauntlet. ANYTHING is "helpless" relative to infinite power.

Again, these arguments are close to pure idiocy. Should we debate x-ray vision? Should we ask if he has bat gadgets? Admantium claws? A vibranium shield? This stuff is all irrelevant.

Marvel directory ? Hmm, maybe you should look it up yourself, and find in the "Known Superhuman Powers" chapter if he indeed can fly. Seriously, if he can fly, it must be there.

I am waiting.

Nowhere does it say galactus can fly. Does this mean he can't? How about the in-betweener? (the force between chaos and order) Or Tyrant? (who destroys galaxies)

I don't recall marvel ever saying they could fly? I suppose they all lose to superman in the sun, huh? They'll be stuck in the sun's gravity, after all.

A quote on eternals from marvel directory:

"Eternals can levitate themselves by mentally manipulating gravitons (subatomic particles carrying the force of gravitational attraction between atoms) around them. An Eternal can also levitate other persons or objects while simultaneously levitating himself or herself. Eternals can "fly" at great speed through levitation, and the average Eternal can thus travel at 600 miles per hour."

This is consistent with the description of every other eternal, e.g. thanos' father mentor. Yes, it is true that some are more powerful tahn others. Just as it is true that some humans are stronger, faster, or smarter than others. But every eternal can fly. And Thanos is an eternal. In fact, thanos has matter manipulation and cosmic energy more powerful than all the other eternals combined.

In all my readings I have never seen Thanos fly. I think it's safe to assume that he cannot fly.

Darkseid in all his appearances has only flown once, but he still can do it.

Well going by your logic all characters can fly.

Just becasue they havn't done it don't mean they cannot do it. 😱

Galactus demonstrated flight in the Secret Wars...

sure...........If they're all eternals.

Darkseid in all his appearances has only flown once, but he still can do it.

exactly, i think characters like thanos and darkseid would look goofy flying anyway but they never really needed to fly they can teleport

stop being silly he means that all eternals have been stated to be able to fly so thanos being a eternal CAN FLY it's like us humans our race can walk, jog, or run unless handicapped so just because you never see me run does'nt mean i can't you should assume i could unless proven otherwise when its a basic trait of my species
