Didn't really like the spin off.
I found myself the whole time wishing they'd get back to Grey's Anatomy.
I was like YAY when they get back to Grey's and then within a few seconds they'd literally go straight back to the spin off and I was like UGH. They hardly spend anytime on Grey's.
And the part that got to me the most was when the StepMom Died. So out of everything, that was the most meaningful.
Not feeling the spin off at all.
And I really must know the point the guy served that guy his car stolen. Did he work there? (I'm referring to the guy who just recently killed himself on PRISON BREAK.
I really didn't get his character at all.

I understood where he was coming from a few shows back with the Chief bringing personal factors into whether he should give Derrick the job or not, but now I'm just not seeing where Derrick is going with it.
He's just having a pity party. Either call it off with Meredith b/c you're pissed you won't be getting the Chief Job or get it together and start acting like you actually care about your relationship. You can't go half way and expect Meredith to fi...........then again..........Meredith seems to be getting the vibes and not putting as much into the relationship either, which I don't blame her. If he doesn't care, why should she.
Anyway..........yeah.........I could be wrong.......I'm not against Derrick or anything or mad at him........he's just handling the situation rather badly..he's confused....I hope he gets unconfused soon though. He did turn that girl down at the bar, so he hadn't completely lost his senses.
Upon seeing the preview for this show, I thought it would be the short black doctor in the floor with the Chief hovering over her shouting for help.
I figured once I was watching the show that it would probably be Adele.
Sidenote.
The guy who plays Chief Webber, has a daughter that goes to my college!!!

ABC Boss: Grey's Spin-off Needs "Some Work"
In a Tuesday-morning press conference, ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson said the network is "obviously really thrilled" to include Grey's Anatomy spin-off Private Practice on the schedule, but admitted, "There's some work to do" toward preparing the show — which was somewhat tepidly received by critics — to stand on its own. Calling the May 3 episode which laid the foundation for the follow-up "not really a pilot, but a hybrid kind of introduction," McPherson says, "We spent a lot of time introducing the characters and not enough time on the stories. We've really got to hit the stories stronger." With the characters established, he says, "What [Grey's creator] Shonda [Rhimes] does brilliantly is the conflict between people and the reality of that. You'll see the intricacies of those relationships."
Accounting for the tonal differences between the two shows — one of the nits picked by those lukewarm to Practice — McPherson said, "We're not doing an imitation of Grey's. Grey's was a show about these young interns who know nothing, don't know each other and are thrown into this world. [Private Practice presents] a world where people know each other — really well, in some cases — and the complications that result when your life hasn't necessarily turned out the way you want it to, and you're trying to change it."
At the fore, of course, is Kate Walsh's Dr. Addison Montgomery, whose journey thus far, McPherson notes, "has really captivated people." "It's amazing that a character who came in as a ***** on wheels can become some people's favorite," he marveled. "We want to carry that into the world in L.A." — Matt Webb Mitovich
