What part of 'non-canon' do you not understand? It's not an issue. We're discussing things that only pertain to official canon. CVS games are being used for power gauging and match up potential. Officially, they don't count as canon either. Terry having girlfriends die on him is probably true if we counted the animes, but we're talking about fighting ability, not his shitty love life. Dude needs to get laid almost as bad as Andy....

Now, back to the last good question asked. Is Orochi more powerful than God Rugal? My answer: No, but part of that is because Orochi has a rigged plot device. Plus he's a frelling god. And I wonder if he could make God rugal and Shin gouki self destruct? He is the source of part of their powers, it might be possible.

I have to agree here with him Aysongail. There was no mention of Sulia Loacorn and Jamin in the Fatal Fury games....but Jamin would have been cool. The only thing that seemed acuurate was the Fatal Fury 2 anime because in the first anime, Terry never learned no such technique as the The Hakkiyosoken whirlwind attack to beat Geese.

Geese was knocked out of Geese tower. Though I disagree about the movie being "crap"

As for Rugal, he fought several fighters as well as the japan team. Saisyu Kusanagi, a few other teams, and the japan team. Kyo didn't beat Rugal by himself, it was a team effort. And yes, Rugal self destructed, but who knows how strong he would have been if he could control the orochi power? And btw, read a page or two back. There's some evidence Rugal may be alive.

Btw, there is a little known Art of Fighting anime. Not everyone is in it, but it features most of the mainstays like King, Big, Todo and the kyokugens.

Finally, the reason the CVS series is not being renewed is two fold. One, SNK has some legal issues to finish up from that period of time. And two, Capcom screwed them on the last 2. Capcom got almost all the revenue from the CVS series. the SNK produced SVC series was garbage. It would be great to see a new CVS game, but SF and KOF need to renew their rivalry. And that means we need SF4 and KOFXII to get made and ported to the PS2 or PS3. **** Xbox. KOFXI is the revival of the old glory of SNK, in terms of gameplay. True, the story still sucks balls, but at least it's not NESTS. There's alot to hope for from SNK-Playmore.

Good post though I am not so sure of Playmore...they already restarted the Orochi such as we talked about which means giving Kyo top deal again.

True, but I've pretty much resigned myself to shitty storylines for a little while. The gameplay matters more to me. With a little luck, Kyo will get his flames nicked by Ash. 😉

where exactly is KOF going in terms of gameplay?

Guard cancel, Dream cancel, armor mode, skill stocks, saving shifts, 3v3 gameplay, I think it's heading in a good direction. It's much better than KOF2K2.

Seriously though. Kyo has had the spotlight for a while(@ least SNK is willing to let the hero get his @$$ kicked), but there ain't nobody worthy of replacing him yet. Ya got some dude who wears a tight biker suit that did his bid during a bad storyline🙂, 2 metrosexual or gay brothers, & a guy who could been cool if he wasn't such a flame. Rock should be old enough now. Let him get his time in the spotlight.

That's because snk doesn't want to replace him, even when they make a new character they ressurect an arc that kyo plays a major role, I mean wtf.
