hmm didn't Burton START the franchise? how can he ruin something that he built, if we take into account that it was his version of Batman that got the franchise taking off?
don't quite follow the logic there.
Now if you're saying Batman Returns ruined the franchise, then fine, but we all know you hated the first Batman right from the start as well.

Yeah thats what Im saying is that Batman Returns ruined the franchise long before Schumacher ruined it with Batman and Robin.Batman Returns took all kinds of abuse from parents over that movie and critics as well and it bombed at the box office,it didnt do near as well as Batman 89 did.Schumacher made the general moviegoer audience excited again with Batman Forever though. It didnt get anywhere near as much bad press as Batman Returns did and did much better at the box office than Returns did as well. Thanks to Batman Forever they were able to make one more Batman movie and keep it going.and it was actually Batman Returns with the two villain thing when people actually started raising their eyebrows over batman.True you can say Batman and Robin drove the franchise down the tube, but Schumacher did please the general moviegoing audience though with batman forever, because like I said,it made much more money at the box office than Returns did.
Its funny because when Forever first came out, people for the most part raved about how much they liked it,it wasnt till batman and robin came out that people really began saying how bad they then thought forever was.

why do you even bother replying to that a-hole? you know hes got nothing better to say and that his immaturity level is off the charts in this forum. just ignore him, he loves talking through his ass. he obviously has no life other then to come here and bash burtons films. what a loser. i just ignore him.
and Batman Returns is definetly one of the best, if not THE best batman movie ever made. great story, great characters, and actually seemed more real and personal then anything BB choked up.
schumacher is the one that made batman silly and campy. you couldnt take batman seriously after seeing shcumachers films. thats why i hate them. there good for fun, for little kids, not for adults looking for real entertainment.
oh and BB wont win.
I'll put it to the people who think Burton ruined the franchise like this.If Batman and Batman Returns ruined the franchise, then why do so many people love them, and so many people hate Schumacher's crap fests??
I mean come on,you know it was his movies that killed the franchise. And you know if Burton had kept going,we wouldn't have had any need for Batman Begins, because the franchise would not have gotten the axe, like it did after Schumacher screwed it all up.
totally agree dock ock. you seem to one of the few ppl here who make total sense.
go to amazon.com and look up what rateing all the batman films have. you'll find that only burtons films and BB are the only ones with a decent rateing while shumachers are way low. in fact, BR has more positive feeback then B89, not-surprisingly. im of the opinion that BR exeeds its predessecor (sp?) by leaps and bounds. not that B89 is bad or anything, its definently up there as the best, no doubt. its just that BR had a better story, better looking gotham city (it was once again nominated for an oscar), and better character development for all the characters, including batman. it was a great second entry in the batman saga and im just sad that burton stopped making batman films. but then again, if he made more films, we wouldnt have the other great films hes made since then. call me a burton-fan, i am, his movies are artistic genious that noone can top as far as visuals and atmosphere go. heck, even his characters are very interesting. hes a very gifted director, no question, and he made the best batman films, even with lame BB that IMO just doesnt top burtons epic, stylistic films. and michael keaton......hes just TOO good as batman. heck, even bruce wayne. everybody liked him after everyone saw him in B89, he sure shut alot of ppl up, lol.

are you kidding? of course we would have had a need for batman begins.as i said, schumacher made people like batman again with batman forever, cause like I said, many people especially moviegoers in general were disgusted with batman returns, the story and how it was so violent.much more so than batman 89,they liked batman 89 a lot but they were really turned off by batman returns, the box office proved that, but when schumacher made batman forever, they thought it was a nice refreshing take on it and it did much better at the box office then returns did,so again it seems schmacher brought fans back to the theaters with batman forever.schuamcher just ruined it all with batman and robin, and again it wasnt until batman and robin that people started badmouthing forever which again when it first came out, many people loved it at the time.
