Are kids getting dumber?

Started by BobbyD2 pages

Yes, kids (in general) are getting dumber. However, I place most of the blame on dumber parents, shotty school systems, and poor teachers.

Quite an intelligent post if I may say so.

I agree!

Lol, thank U moff Gav.

Y would kids get dumber anyway, maybe we think of ourselves as smarter, but were we as dumb as we think the kids nowadays are.

And of course we're talking about the US, a country that gives intelligent design over the evolution theory.

Kids are getting dumber due to laziness, being both physical and mental. They should be getting smarter, but somehow, their life parameters seem to be having reverse pschology on them.

Just wondering, do you guys have a union?

Hell no. I'm glad we're not because I'm familiar with both sides of the fence and I choose ours.

Also, it's not like I'm the plant manager or anything 😑 😂 Long way to go for that, I'm afraid.

I don't think the kids are truly getting dumber, there just not getting to there full potential.

From my own experiences there is a very high emphasis on math (as Draco69 pointed out), but very little on Science.

Kids arent getting dumber, there just branching out more in what they focus on.
In the past, people needed to work harder in order to make a living, professionals were more respected, and it was a more innoccent time.
Because of all the technology available to kids nowadays, information of all kinds is much more availbale, so they are learning, just not neccessarily anything to do with school.
There are more options for people outside of jobs that require a high standard of education.
The schools arent crappy, the teachers are doing their jobs and the kids arent stupid.
They're just as smart, but in a new age, where the grades that determined all in the past, now only determine a very small part of their lives.

Either that, or I blame drugs 🙂

The reason why america has less engineers is due to the fact it's cheaper to outsource to other nations.

America used to be an industrial nation, now they are nothing more then a service nation.

Kids are not getting dumber, teachers are not getting dumber and parents do care. You're all wrong.

Tell me one kid that won't surprise the masses today with what he knows.

Tell me one teacher that wouldn't genuinely teach with quality with the student purely in mind if he or she were paid more.

Tell me if you had a kid in school or if you'd have one in the future, you'd wouldn't care about his/her education.

Maybe if subjects like English, math and the Sciences were taught and made more interesting instead of being dull, kids would be interested.

Maybe if teachers were paid more, they'd be more dedicated. I heard most teachers barely earn enough money for doing one of the most important jobs in society.

And maybe if parents were more educated on what to do and how to become really involved in a kids learning process, then maybe Kids won't turn out so "dumb" if all the parties involed took proactive stances.

Acting like you care or looking like you care is not enough. People need to understand that.

And the media has a lot do with it too.

yeah some teachers are dumb but i had this history teacher who had to work to jobs because he wasnt paid enough and even though he wasnt paid that much he cared about what he teached and he cared bout us students...He taught me many things and he actually made me think!!!!!! crazy i know. not all teachers are stupid and theres alot of stupid kids who have had good teahers but but dont flippen care if they end up druggies.
