NIGHTSTALKERS/MIDNIGHT SONS
· In later years, Blade, along with King and Drake, became a frequent ally of Doctor Strange and assisted in the casting of the Montesi Formula. The formula had been retrieved from a page in the Darkhold a powerful book of magic responsible for the creation of all vampires. This destroyed Dracula and, for a time, all vampires on Earth.
· Blade, King and Drake stayed together, and formed a private detective agency called Borderline Inc. The agency discontinued after Drake left and Blade was committed to a psychiatric hospital following a battle with a temporarily resurrected Dracula.
· Doctor Strange later arranged the release of Blade so that he could join Drake and King in reforming Borderline Inc. as the Nightstalkers, members of Strange's new team: the Midnight Sons, at the core of which stood the Nine, humans and others chosen to defend Earth against mystical invasion.
· Together, unknowingly under Strange's manipulation, they battled various supernatural villains such as the Darkholders, Hydra's DOA, the Lilin (the children of Lilith, mother of demons), and Varnae, the Lord of Vampires.
· D.O.A. stands for the Department of Occult Armaments (D.O.A.), a division of Hydra headed by Belial.
· To ensure Blade's cooperation, Strange mystically transmuted Blade's hatred of vampires into an enmity against all things supernatural.
· Due to its gross over-use, the Montesi Formula was weakening: King transformed back into a vampire, and Blade's vampiric DNA resurfaced, making him even more volatile and dangerous and playing him and King against each other. Blade even tried to sacrifice King to the DOA. It was only through Frank Drake's insistence that Blade decided to save his former friend.
· At one point, Blade used a page of the accursed Darkhold book of spells to become, apparently, the mystically empowered Switchblade. In truth, his body was taken over by an ancient entity bent on the destruction of the supernatural world called the Demogorge. In this form Blade fought and slew many of the Midnight Sons, and was only stopped when one of them read a spell of banishment and exiled the Demogorge forever.
· The damage he had done as Switchblade was reversed; however, Blade could not reconcile himself to the fact that he remembered everything that had occurred, and that he had caused it all through his blind hatred of the supernatural.
· Using a mystical knife called the Edge of Intrados, Blade reviewed his life as though living it again. This was a major turning point in his life: he realized that, even before Strange's manipulations, he had been governed by his own obsessions and blinded to the safety and well-being of his friends and allies, or the possibility of leading a normal life. He decided to retire.
· He was soon pressured into returning to the game, however, when Drake and King were kidnapped by Shortcircuit, one of the Lilin. Blade followed them into an alternate reality where King had become the Lord of Vampires. Escaping from this living nightmare, Blade killed Shortcircuit, and swore to King that he would never allow King to lose control of his vampiric urges, sealing the rift between them and cementing their friendship forever.
· The Midnight Sons were soon after involved in the events known as the Siege of Darkness. In the culminating chapter of this adventure, Blade obtained the mystical sword Justicar from Foundry, a former member of both the Blood and the Fallen, immortal enemies and servants of Zarathos, respectively.
· Foundry had never completed the forging of Justicar because it needed to be tempered in Blood. Not blood - Blood. However, when Zarathos and the Fallen attacked, Foundry allowed Blade to kill her, completing the sword. Blade proceeded to kill each and every member of the Fallen, and to seemingly destroy Zarathos.
· After the Siege of Darkness, the Midnight Sons began to drift apart, as their destiny as a team seemed fulfilled.
· Blade and the Nightstalkers continued to hunt vampires, believing that it was partially their fault (through their lack of understanding about how to properly use the Montesi Formula) that vampires were being reintroduced into the human world.
BLADE – VAMPIRE HUNTER (VOL. 1 - 1993)
· Blade was devastated when he appeared to be the only one of the trio to survive the final battle with Varnae, which culminated in the death of Blade's old friend and the only one of the Drac Pack he was ever able to connect with: Taj Nital, now a vampire serving Varnae.
· With every member of the Drac Pack now gone, Blade decided to return to vampire hunting to honor their memory.
· He also attempted to forge a normal life for himself outside of vampire hunting. Befriending a woman named Julia Suarez, he rented an apartment from her under the name Frank Blade.
· He clashed with Marie Laveau, Steppin' Razor and Night Terror while the trio were reviving Varnae once more.
· Blade's spirit briefly traveled back in time, experiencing the life of 17th-century vampire hunter Jonas Cray.
· Laveau later sent her agents, the Vampz, to kill Bible John but Blade once more halted her plans.
· Meanwhile, Carik's visions of Hannibal King and Frank Drake eventually culminated in the revelation that the two men had somehow merged with Bloodstorm to form this new Dracula. Blade and a future version of himself known as Crossbow were instrumental in helping King and Drake return from this state, though Dracula's true soul retained possession of the body they had once shared. Drake has yet to recover from these events.
· Blade was soon summoned to New Orleans by the enigmatic beauty Dominique Levant, who led him into the midst of a vampiric coup of sorts involving the living vampire Morbius and the powerful Ulysses Sojourner. Sojourner sought to unify all vampires on the East Coast, but Blade halted the scheme.
· Remaining active in New Orleans, Blade teamed with Brother Voodoo to thwart Marie Laveau and Deacon Frost's attempts to build an undead army.
· Later, Blade and Spider-Man encountered the vampire Henry Sage and learned of the development of the Daywalker formula, an evolution of the Sunlight Serum.
· Continuing to refine his techniques and equipment, Blade helped Spider-Man try to capture their former ally Morbius, who had fallen under the sway of a vampire known as the Hunger. During their confrontation, Morbius bit Blade, who soon realized that his blood enzymes were not enough to protect him from his foe's unique form of vampirism.
· Transforming into the thing he hated most, Blade became a Daywalker, a vampire able to move about in the sunlight and lacking most of the vampire's traditional weaknesses. Blade was now driven by bloodthirst, however, and he struggles to this day to cope with his hunger for human blood.
BLADE – VAMPIRE HUNTER (VOL. 3 – 1995)
· Shortly thereafter, Blade was captured by Silvereye, a S.H.I.E.L.D. division devoted to developing its own cadre of vampire soldiers. The Silvereye division was partially a front for a scheme engineered by Darius Venginian, a vampire who sought to resurrect an ancient vampiric demon known as the Reaper. He also sought to program Blade into becoming a Silvereye pawn, but this plan failed when Blade broke free of his programming.
· The vampire-hunting twins Mosha and Mikado aided Blade during this adventure and accompanied him when he fled the scene, swearing to have nothing more to do with S.H.I.E.L.D. in the future. Blade's partnership with the twins was brief, and he was alone again when he faced a terrifying breed of multi-stage vampires known as the Tryks. Blade was seduced by their queen, who hoped that their progeny would eventually allow her kind to rule the Earth.
· Most recently, Blade teamed up with a new group of vampire hunters, thwarting an immense vampire conspiracy threatening the entire planet, led by Dracula himself. Dracula was destroyed once again, though his eventual resurrection seems to be assured.
· Blade's last known solo adventure involved a plot by Dracula to assume the title of Vampire Lord officially, by becoming a god-like being like Varnae. Blade joined Noah Van Helsing (actually Noah Tremayne, Rachel's adopted cousin) and several vampire hunters from across the globe to stop Dracula from succeeding.
· Blade has since encountered the Punisher , and has taken up protecting a Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans from an escalating vampire population, most notably alongside Luke Cage, Brother Voodoo, and the Black Panther.
· A short time later, Blade was also invited to attend the wedding of the Black Panther and Storm in Africa.
POWERS & ABILITIES
· Blade has all the strengths of a vampire, but none of their weaknesses.
· Can see in the dark.
· Is a great deal stronger than a normal human being
· Has faster reflexes.
· Has a regenerative healing factor.
· Can "smell" supernatural creatures of all kinds.
· Is immune to being turned into a full vampire via a vampire's bite.
· Has mastered the use of every single type of weapon known to man, and can adapt new weaponry to his growing repertoire in mere minutes.
· Is an expert of several martial arts styles.
· Possesses the skills of a professional jazz trumpeter.
Where did you find these? I've heard about his notes on Blade but never saw it.

another guy posted it on the blade appreciation thread, he saved them before guggenheim deleted them i'm pretty sure

this scene is pretty sick, I like hrolf a lot, I want him to reappear sometime, him and draconis are some of Blade's sickest enemies.

Switchblade has absorbed the powers of a werewolf, a vampire, a healer, and the demogoblin (can make weapons appear at a whim)

What exactly does that mean? Sharpening his stakes to nanopoint? Must be like armor piercing stakes or some sh!t.

I think thats kinda the explanation as to how Wolverine can cut through almost everything eventhough he has low comparative strength, his claws are sharp down to the molecular level....or some shit like that.

So im guessing that his stakes are really really sharp, but I guess they could break unlike adamantuim if it hit something really durable.

It means that the point of each stake is only a few nanometres wide (i.e. VERY small).

Basically anything 'nano' is extremely small. And the smaller the point, the better it is at piercing things.

Blade scuffles with Union Jack:

Turns out there wasn't much more to the Union Jack/Blade fight. However Blade did survive a blast/explosion that sent him flying quite a distance. If anybody can get scans that would be cool.

I'll try when I get the issue

Still don't know what to think of Blade's actions at the end of the issue though.

how much the scans worth to you? I have them.

I dont think he actually did anything wrong. There was nothing he could do, if he had joined in the fight instead of him being able to escape and maybe come up with a plan all that would have happened is that he would have got mullered as well.
