I would still say "never having been observed" is not a flaw or an argument against the validity of evolution. The humanities and sciences are full of examples of theories and the like based upon things that no living person has seen. eg.
History - ancient, medieval - no body saw the Empire, saw the battles, nobody saw Caesar get stabbed in the Senate. But we have written sources - but they could be fiction. So we look beyond, we find statues. We find coins that refer to Caeser. We find supporting evidence.
Now clearly this doesn't mean we can't have history. It simply means we have to be cautious and careful in how we go about constructing it. And we can because past events leave proof, which can be used to build something close to accurate upon.
Now, I have said it before - The Theory of Evolution has not been seen first hand due to it taking long periods of time. But there is sufficient evidence to make it a plausible, valid theory, just as we can say we know about the Romans and Greeks. For example there is sufficient genetic similarities and anatomic ones to support the hypothesis that mankind is related to the great apes - that there were previous members of the homo strain that are related, and likely forefathers of our species. Regardless of what Whob says about such things merely being humans with diseases. Science is sure of this. They know that these are not just abnormal men and women. They are more cautious now, and such evidence undergoes rigorous testing. Now what other theory or argument out there offers an equally plausible explanation for mankind being so closely related to the great apes? What theory or argument can be presented that disproves evolutions answer for this, or disproves our relation to our extinct evolutionary forefathers?
Now as to links - some people prefer to babble on - such as myself. Some prefer to offer links to reputable sites with the relevant information they want to get across for your viewing pleasure. This to is valid, and some of the sites posses a lot of relevant information. It is worth a look.
