those are the plans for the 2008. one single tyre supplier, yes.
and ofcourse they're not final since one of the proposals is reducing the aerodynamicity by 90%....😑 that's going back to nicky lauda days...25 years ago or so. it's ridiculous!and i don't know about that ush..it's not michelin's fault. the new tyres were there..they just didn't allow them to make the change. nor did they allo that chicane...i hope this will somehow result with a change of leadership within fia 😬
It was Michellin's cock-up that caused the problem in the first place. That the problems were then compounded by other possible failures- for which blame will be apportioned- is irrelevant. The source of the problem was a total mess-up by Michellin and they will have to carry the can.
that's not the point.....it's totally their fault when it coems to the tyre failure. however in situations like these it is MANDATORY for both sides to reach a compromise. they owe that to the fans....and to the sponsors for that matter.
the teams agreed to start behind all the bridgesone cars, if they can change the tyres....but no....no change, no chicane, no compromise from fia....and ferrari too, i'd say. you can't really BLAME ferrari because it wasn't their problem....but i CAN say they lack sportmanship....and lower themselves like this because they're desperate for points.

Of course it is the point! And you are incorrect- there is only one factor that was actually mandatory, and that was for Michellin to supply properly. Everything else was simply down to decision and opinion.
Hence, as I say, THEY will carry the can. They were the only ones who have actually failed in a position of stated responsibility. Notions like 'owing it to the fans' are meaningless- merely opinion. It might equally be claimed that it would have been equally unfair to the fans to force a rigged race peanlising the teams that had done no wrong. Furthermore, I very much doubt the chicane was ever a realistic solution. No-one had trained on it or tested it; it was a pie in the sky idea.
they've announced that they will get no extra security over there. it's pretty safe, they say.
and montoya will start doing well...sometime.

they are proffessional drivers....i think they can deal with a new chicane..that's their job.
besides....in the eyes of the majorities, michelin is actually looking pretty good, seeing as they stood for safety and admitted their flaw, not taking the risk. and they're refunding the fans that were there. it IS a blow for the us michelin corporation but...they'll be more than ok.
and frankly...all of this just stirred the pot. the 7 teams + minardi are far in their private GP racing championship....moseley will hopefully resign in a somewhat near future (not likely) and f1 as we know it is going down because of ineffective leadership
