Yes, he took over but after taking over you don't throw yourself back on the ideal line 20 centimeters in front of the other and hitting the brakes just a moment later... That is asking to get pushed.

that is normally so..however....monteiro was a lapped pilot. there are different rules..he should have slowed down the moment montoya started his overtake and give him space to do it.....we both saw that he breaked too late.....it was his damn fault.

did you hear kimi's reaction when he found out montoya wasn't in second??? no, cos he was too dumbfounded to say anything! with a mate like montoya, who needs a rival! 😒

don't be quick to judge...
in my opinion, it was 80% monteiro's fault. yeah jpm rushed his repositioning a little...but this is the top of motor sports....you have to expect a break like that, and react accordingly. the crash damaged his rear defuser..causing him a significant drop of downforce....which ultimately led to his incident next lap.

i am atributing 20% of the fault to jpm..because monteiro might have had a drop of downforce when he butted in front of him like that.....
but it was DEFINITELY an avoidable accident..and monteiro should be investigated by the stewarts.
