Strength matters a lot in a fight. Sure you can compensate it if for example your opponent is stronger than you are but is slow/weak/stupid/noob (?)

No it was a general adress. ankur does this on the Respek Spider-Man thread... It's just giving me a little head ache to think on why it matters... When it REALLY doesn't. Spidey only wins cause he has sound on his side against Venom... big whup. Other than that inn the comics and on the 90's show Spidey would have lost.. but what 7 year old wants to see his fave superhero be beaten?

.very true but the reason why strength matters is because there are charecters out there who beat spidey and should not be able to ......spidey being a class 20 or 25 would influnece his wins against someone like Dr ock or goblin as he would now have a strength adavnatage another thing that annoys me is how people undermine spidey's strength which was 15 tons minimum which has been upgraded to an unknown extent due to teh his rebirth in teh other series (check spidey's marvel.com bio), 15 tons is a lot and he is at least 30 times stronger than captain america who can only bench 1100lbs the writers do not make good use of spidey's strength i mean spidey can hold 3 to 4 cars on each hand if he wanted to with strength at 15 tons , he can lift almost 200 times his own weight he can lift an average guy on a chair with a single finger , he can KO ppl by flicking them!!!!!!!!!!
people alos beleive that wolverine's strength is similar to spideys which is wrong!!!
wolverine is a class 2-5 tons at maximum nowhere near spidey !!!!

You have a good point Ankur. It annoys me as well when writers forget about strngth Spider-man has. That's why I hate Ultimate Spider-man. His punches are not harder than of average strong boxer in ultimate universe.
Anyway respect for Venom from here to forever. A guy who would take out almost any street-leveler.
