You're probably using Photoshop 7, or an earlier version.

You need PS CS, at least, to scatter your smudge brushes.

This is true...I have PS7 and I can only scatter paint.

Which really sucks but there are ways to get similar effects using regular smudging and filters.

Indeed. As you can see...i have done it...though i personally think its a pain in the arse.

Yea but I had the option once before unless it was for something else so i need to have ps cs? I mean I have a portable photoshop 8.0 which is cs... so i mean did i think i did a scattering option but it wasn't for a smudge tool?

For one thing, this sig is not finished, it needs a few more tweaks. The thing I want you wonderfully talented people (note the flattery) to help me with is a quote. I'm big on quotes, and I'm at loss for one at the moment. Also, what do you suggest I should tweak to make it better?

I'd rethink two things.

1 (major). Is your render properly placed and sized.

2 (minor). Is your border the proper color.
