Sorry to dissapoint you, but there is zero multiplayer in Black.

This was 100% intentional all the way through development, according to Criterion studios. They said that they wanted to focus completely on the single-player campaign and make it incredible, which they pretty much did 🙂

But since the game is so freakin fun it's just begging for multiplayer (co-op especially)

But hey, it's only $40 and it's amazing, so I'm not complaining.

-Oh, and for those of you who didn't know, Black is supposed to be the first game in a trilogy.No doubt the "next" Black will come out on the next-jen systems. If they can pull off this kind of stuff on THIS generation of consoles, man think of the possibilities for the PS3 and 360.

This game really is begging for multiplayer. I'd even go so far as to say that this would probably be one of the best multiplayer games for consoles...if it were multiplayer. Pretty fun stuff regardless, i just played the first two levels and enjoyed myself. Simple and fun says it all really.

can't wait to get this game. i'm gona play it through non stop.

when i was shopping for games and reading reviews on the net, all i read about on gamespot was black this and black that, its going to be awesome, blah blah blah. and now it doesnt even have multiplayer, dammit.

do you play it on easy or normal?

I have demo for PS2 and I have played it trough many times. I just never get bored to it... All that destruction... I´m definitely going to buy it!!

Rented this last night, its fun, but its nothing near what I hoped. Criterion has made a great staring point for a new franchise though.

the whole 'console only' is a disappointment though 🙁

The funny thing is that Gamespot didnt even give it a good review, 7.4 to be exact.

I think Black is appreciated for it's simplenes. Like Astro fan said "Criterion has made a great staring point". I can see a good future for the franchise in the next gen of consoles.

But could it be better if it wasnt "simple"?

I havnt played the game yet, and I'll probably never will because lack of console to play it and well, I dont know want to spend 60 bucks, but going from numerous sites like IGN, Gamespot, Gamespy and X-Play, it looks like the game is amazing the first hour of it, but around the 7 hour of it, it looks tedious because of the gameplay being the same throughtout.
( Im not saying this game sucks)
Im just saying, what if the developers added some dramatic narrative (as xplay mentioned) to spruce up the game? Wouldnt it make it better?

I've only played a few minutes of some forest level at Gamestop, but I had a good ole time blowing things away. I'll definitely have to buy it.

I would say rent it. I did, and now I own it.

this game is freakin awesome, i just rented it and im gunna buy it l8er. better gameplay n graphics than both HALO's. only thing that really draws back on this game though, no jump button which makes it somewhat linear, and no mulitplayer mode..!!! wtf. thats messed up. if it had multi this game would be ultimate.
