I agree. Id never go to a restaurant that close to closing. I've seen waiting and it opened my eyes to the realization that it means the chefs and waiters gotta stay longer. And thats just ****ed up.
I'm just pissed at how many of them there were, but we get worse. Last night it was 3 minutes to close...THREE minutes! The entire restaurant was cleaned and the kitchen entirely shut down. We were there an hour late.
Today, however. 25 people. I was the only cook, with 1 waitress and no dishwasher. That was my entire crew from 2pm-8pm. We didn't expect to get much business since it was a Thursday at a lake resort which is having a very slow summer.
They came out of nowhere, and almost all at once. I had to call my boss to come down to the restaurant and rescue us because we couldn't keep up.
At the rate it was going I would have been cooking until 10pm (2 hours after closing) and THEN having to do the entire restaurant clean up an hour or so later, once the customers leave.
