Is it true Xabi whathisname is outta the whole shebang? Apparently he got carried off the other day. I know it's a horrible thing to say, but I'm kinda happy about that as hopefully it'll mean Spain will slide lil Cesc into the mid field, and I think he's potentially one of the best in the world. I love watching that kid strut his stuff, when he's really kicking he can pick a whole game up and stick it in his pocket.

But when he isn't playing well.. he doesn't have the capability to have one magic moment.. he stays in the background and does very little.. IMO

He's like 18 though. Give him time to mature, you need experience as much as anything when you're playing in that central area. So yeah, potentially, by his mid-20's he'll be a world beater. Maybe sooner if he gets a chance in the world championship.

how on earth can sven justify taking
Hargreaves - does nothing everytime he pulls on a shirt
Campbell - i seem to remember a certain Zamora ripping him apart, hows he gona stop Ronaldinho?!
Reo-Coker - yeah hes playing well but Nolan is better
Johnsen - played in the Championship all season and has lost top level sharpness
Walcott - never played in the Permiership and only 3 games for the reserves!

Ok Sven what about these names:
Darren Bent - top scoring Englishman, never given a chance
Kevin Nolan - been superb for Bolton this season, but another sufferer of small club syndrome
Jermaine Defoe - yeah take him but put him in your 23!
Shaun Wright Phillips - not played well this season, but not included because of lack of games, hmmm how many games have Walcott, Owen and Cole played this season?!
And 3 more strikers who are better suited to playing then Theo Walcott, Marlon Harewood, Dean Ashton and Robbie Fowler! Yes Robbie Fowler has been very good since returning to Liverpool!
And as an afterthought, why is Lennon only in the stanbys?! over the past 2 months he has been our best winger along with Downing who has been awesome in Europe!
Thank god Sven is going in 3 months time!

Spain are overrated as a team. They have an incredible midfield, possibly the best if they pick it correctly, but they're underachievers. As in, they achieve nothing.

It's all very well and good saying "Yeah they're great", but they get nothing done. Same with Italy.

I think Walcott has extraordinary things ahead of him and the only way he'll get experience is games, but if England want to take this
seriously I wouldn't start Walcott.

I've never seen him play, but if Walcott is so extraordinary why the f*ck-a-doodle-doo has he not played one single minute since joining Arsenal in January!?!?!?!?! My guess is that Wenger deemed him 'not ready', which beggers the disbelief HOW THE KRUNK CAN HE BE READY FOR THE WORLD CUP!?!?!?!?!?!

Then again, Sven seems to cream his jeans over anyone with pace. Lennon is good but come on, there are some defenders out there who will just say "Yeah where you going mate?"

If he left time for the dust to settle, Lennon would probably reply: "Right past you, old man..."

Considering the fact that he's only chosen 4 forwards - two of which are currently injured - it's my guess Sven's going to choose a 5 man midfield for the group games. It's looking like it's gonna be Mr. Wobbly Knees up-front on his own like a Tower of Pisa without the endurance.

That's true, I looked up their world cup history and they've only made it to the last four once. But I still don't know, a team with Puyol, Fabregas, Reyes, Garcia, Villa and Torres, youch. Nothing's for certain in this tournament.

And I disagree about Italy, they've made two major finals in the last fifteen years (much more than 90% of all the other nations on earth), and they have a very proud tradition to carry as past winners. Unlike Spain, they'll believe they can do well. And they've got a very strong squad, which a lot of people seemed not to have noticed. I wouldn't disregard those guys, they could be good outside bets.

With an average age of about 50 and quality of an average man that age, I don't consider them candidates for anything.

They can win games, sure. They have the odd player that can do something now and then, but as far as having a team that can win the world cup, not now. If you want an outside bet; Germany. Trust me.

It's true; Italy are shit. They've got a decent enough defence, but they'll still probably go out in the first round. As for Spain, they will probably pack their bags after the second round game.

Outside bet? Portugal have a nice looking team, but I think you'd be wasting your money with a bet on a team outside of Brazil, France, Argentina or England (I'm hopelessly bias).

This is why I dont talk much about soccer with you guys, your all English loving whores. Im just waiting for the tournament to begin and we will see if Mother England is what you guys say she is.

Since when have Portugal, Brazil, France and Argentina been counties in England?

I like teams that play good football. The ones I mentioned do this. Italy do not. That's why I don't like them. Do you need any more bones, Bingo?

PAST WINNERS:

BRAZIL : 5

ITALY : 3

GERMANY : 3

URUGUAY : 2

ARGENTINE : 2

ENGLAND : 1

FRANCE : 1

Thank you for being realistic bud

italy have a good team.
most there players are young

diana, zaccardo, di rossi, gilardinho, , cassano, esposito

then they have the experience like pirlo, totti, nesta cannavaro, zambrotta, toni gattuso,

with that good mix they can be a force in the world cup. we'll have to wait and see

Oh, shit! You got me! I forgot that half their team is still made up from the 1982 squad!

Also, winning an international competition does not mean that that team played good football. All it means is that they won their games. Look at the European Champions, Greece, as an example of that.

Even tho I have England as one of my picks to win the WC, you make it seem as if England is the only team in the tournament.

Like I said I will not discuss anything else until the WC has begun and then we will see who has a chance to win it.

How am I an English loving whore? I don't even support the team.

Just to add another nail to the coffin in which your claim currently rests.

Apart from Brazil and maybe Argentina, everyones chances are pretty limited this time.

And I'm not English, but I'm still looking forward to see England above most teams. They're not a naturally pretty team, but they have so much talent in there that hasn't been unleashed on the world yet. I'm also pretty certain that Joe Cole will be one of the players of the tournament should they do well.

Well, my dear boy, that little post has absolutely no basis in reality, does it?

Oh yeah! Because "pieces" rhymes with "peace" and it's describing the negative effects of trying to fight and achieve peace.
