I think Maradona is one of the best ever, but I don't think he's THE best. I think that's Pele, or in time, Ronaldinho.

I think Maradona was certainly one of the greats but i dont believe you can be the best ever if you can only play with one (left) foot.

Ronaldinho has a chance in this world cup to mentioned with the all time greats.

pele is too over rated imo. he never played at top level. not saying he coudnt but you know.

george best was the greatest in my eyes. pele also thought so 😛

Pele was a goal scorer and Maradona was a playmaker and goal scorer. Maradona had more skills than Pele, you can even see some of his warm ups where he does tricks... hmmm doesnt Ronaldinho do those same tricks.. I wonder where he got them from?

Being able to do the flashiest tricks doesnt make you the best player in my mind, but this is an age old debate and im not trying to change your mind. I'll stick with Pele and you can have Maradona.

Yeh its top level. just because he played well in the world cup doesnt mean he is the greatest

Sorry im still trying to make sense of you saying that Pele never played at the top level, then saying that the World Cup is the top level.

He didnt only play well in the World Cup, thats selling him a bit short. He was often the best player in the World Cup and when you think of the talent on those great Brazilian teams thats no mean feat.

But like i said before everyone has their own choice for the best ever. Im not knocking your choice of Best, he was a fantastic player but then so was Cruyff. But saying Pele was overrated or just played well in the World Cup is just wrong imo.

Maradona was the man. I'm sure Pele was amazing, but the video footage I've seen of him doesn't really show his talent. Of course, this probably has a lot to do with the level of technology and media coverage at the time, but it's the only evidence I have to go on.

As for who's da bomb in the here and now, I'd say Ronaldinho is on a different planet. As was Zidane 5 or so years ago...

Pele was the greatest to play the game and he proved it on the biggest stage in the world for many years. The future now is Ronaldinho who I agree is playing a lot like 'El Mago' did in the last WC.

Pele, Maradona, Franz Beckenbauer, Marco Van Basten, George Best, Johan Cruyff are all legends in their own style of play. But everyone wants Pele or Maradona in their team. Well there are Maradona fans all over the world, not only in Argentina.

I don't think so. Ukraine are a team of undiscovered talent. I could be wrong, but I'm certain they will snatch this opportunity to shine on the biggest stage for the first time. I'll be suprised if they don't make at least the quarters.

germans looked good in attack but pretty poor in defence. they will struggle agaisnt better opposition if they dont produce more solid performances at the back.

quality goals from lahm and frings. that ball sure is a nightmare for keepers.
