But seriously, if Rooney plays at any stage with his foot like that any serious challenge (and on him it will be double what the other players get) will damage him again and even more, I mean really he's only 20 years old he's got more tournaments in him in the future why risk him in one or two matches? Remember Beckham being really unfit in Japan and South Korea, that basically meant by the time they got to Brazil they were playing the best attacking team in the world with 10 men- its not a way to go.
I do expect England to at least get past the group stages but you're never really quite sure when they come up against the bigger teams. Granted they can overcome teams like Spain and Holland when they are on form and even at times Italy but when they come up against really skillful and imaginative players from Brazil, Portugal, Argentina etc the England team are ponderous and slow compared to them.
I feel really, really sorry for Cisse, but honestly. If anything it's good news for France. He really is a very poor player. How anyone can pick Cisse over Ludovic Giuly I don't know.
