Ivory Coast, from what I have seen they are not that different than Ukraine. One very very good player (Drogba) and not a whole lot other than that. The fun thing will be to see how all of the bickering in the locker room will effect Holland.

they have the two toures, zokora, eboue and some very good midfield players.

Yes but they are down 2 to 1

whats your point?

game wasnt as tight though. messi woudnt of scored against t&t i doubt.

It wasn't as tight because Argentina are displaying the best passing accuracy, skill and possession seen in this tournament so far. I think he would have scored against Trinidad, but we can only speculate.

What a goal by Zokora (I think) for Ivory Coast, though. Van Persie's goal was also great.

-AC

Well,Holland progressed,against everyone's expectations to the knock-out stages...
Guess Ivory Coast won't be this WC's surprise?

my point is that they are not wining people to me anyway

You are better? Didn't think so. If you think he's crap, fine, but don't pick out his weight as some kind of snide, derogatory remark. He's probably still better than a lot of players. Crouch, for one, who is remarkably thin.

-AC

I'm better than him when he plays like that, yes!!!

And I think you'll find the laziness and disinterested pace at which he played showed the characteristics of being fat and out of shape, hence the expression "Fat man syndrome"

Did I say he was crappy all together?? No I said he was crappy (as in the performance he gave against Croatia)

ukraine looked average. i dont think they will easily qualify. the pressure is on them

Dean.....trust me, they will easily qualify!!!

Tunisia and Saudi Arabia looked less than average

And if they had a fully fit Shevchenko, and he wasn't flagged offside when he was blatantly on (happened 2 or 3 times) the score wudda been closer

I noticed a little dispute about Argentina won't be defending and then AC said they would

Simple question for anyone who wants to answer it.....

Have the Argies beaten England since the turn of the milennium??

No they haven't, we are their bogey team

plus, during the last friendly with them, they tried to attack our asses off, and got caught out

I agree with what alot of people said about England vs. Trinidad, but ofcourse I knew the impending oppurtunity for AC to slag them would come

Simple as this.....a win is a win, we dominated the whole game, and Trinidad had one real chance all throughout, it wasn't the most convincing performance and frustrated me personally, but we are through, and our best is yet to come

We will get better, with the better opponents we get, and if we win when we play quite crap, what will happen when we turn it on??

Yes, but against a very weak Serbia side who have been yped quite alot, and have yet to show anything for it.....

Any half decent team wudda turned the Serbs over today, they were poor all over the park

But ofcourse I will acknowledge that the Argies were fantastic, some really well worked goals, and they don't long ball it, which is one of my biggest annoyances when watching England

They are looking good, but I wouldn't read too much into today's result, just proves they can whip a decent team who are playing pants

But once again, I am not taking anything away from Argentina, they were just breathtaking today!!!

Oh and a little message to Dean

Everything you said in England's defense was spot on!!!

You will never get AC to meet you half way and admit England are a good team, because he's ignorant.....he's the kinda guy to see Brazil get beaten 3-0 by Angola, and then make excuses why they lost

He's an idiot, he makes stupid, laughable remarks like he knows everything, and then refuses to back down

He can bark and bark and bark about England, but you can bet your arse neither of us will ever pay any attention, because what he says is so untrue, it would be an insult to the word lie, to call what he says that

like England?

england are hardly weak. they are just a bunch of class players, who dont play together to there potential

i meant to leave out the weak bit... the rest is very very true

Still, he is worlds better than Crouch, who is the opposite of a fat man, yet a player you hype to the max for no reason. How many times can Crouch say he's been hailed as the greatest player on Earth? 5? 10? None? Ronaldo can say it.

If you want to talk about dominating games, the game where England beat Argentina is what you should discuss. England were getting dominated, regardless of their goal. Argentina stupidly took off the players that were doing the dominating and they admittedly brought about their own loss. Until that point, England had no signs of scoring, no signs of winning, and every single person I've spoken to bar you and Deano has said the same thing.

England didn't dominate Trinidad, that's the sad thing. England got held to a 0-0 until the 80th minute and over. Unless you are saying England dominated Trinidad but just couldn't score past Shaka Hislop? You can't have it both ways. I'd try to see your point of view on England, but unfortunately I can't fit my head that far up their collective asses.

You say "When we turn it on", when? When will this be? They've been waiting to turn it on since 1966. Every single tournament we hear that they can turn it on, that they'll win. The songs come out, the flags come out, "Football's coming home!". The only thing that England ever bring back from a tournament is their luggage after they're knocked out. Naturally, England fans either spend the rest of their football watching days in a grudge-driven rage, or act like it didn't happen, only to hype England up after they win their next friendly thanks to a 90 minute Joe Cole tap-in.

They beat Serbia 6-0 because that's how much they should be beating Serbia by. England should be beating Trinidad by more than 2 last minute struggled goals, or a 1-0 own goal by Paraguay, or 3-0 against Northern Ire...oh wait, they lost to Northern Ireland didn't they?

Holland could only manage a 1-0 win. Any decent team should beat Trinidad, Paraguay, Northern Ireland, Uruguay, Azerbaijan etc. England seem to have trouble with those, but being an England fan, you mark those down as "bad days". Not the team being consistently shit. Brazil had a bad day against Croatia, I know that because on other "days" they've won 5 World Cups, competed in every single world cup, reached the finals more times, won many domestic trophies and have been hailed consistantly as the greatest footballing nation on Earth. You are still living off the back of 1966. Having the most blind enthusiasm for your team doesn't make your team the best, and no amount of "We can do it, we're great, come on En-ger-land!" will change this.

Serbia aren't decent, they're shit. Argentina should have whooped them as much.

What, like "Give Rooney a chance, he's just come back"? He said Rooney was better than Messi. Messi was out for much longer with a much worse injury. Came back, played great, set up one goal and scored the final goal. He did what you claim Rooney can do, but hasn't done, won't do. He hasn't scored for England in ages.

Which is exactly why I came on and said, right away, that Brazil had a shit game against Croatia, isn't it?

Do England have good players? Yes, they have some great players. Are they a great TEAM? No.

You are such a pathetically overdramatising case.

well The USA will make it to the finale's but who thinks it is not fair to India they did not get into the world cup.

Argentina were a joy to watch, it seemed like the whole team was perfectly in sync. Sure the competition wasnt that great but the movement from Argentina would trouble most defenses.

Ivory Coast were very unlucky, they got stuck in a hard group. I think they would have gone through to the next stage if they didnt have Holland and Argentina in their group. They definitely did enough to beat Holland, they played with the sort of purpose i'd like to see from England and that goal from that little dude was incredible.

Yeah Argentina were incredible. Beautiful football. Riquelme had the entire game in his pocket. I feel very sorry for Serbia though.

I'm so bummed the Elephants got knocked out. They were awesome, positive, fast and a good mix of talents. Whoever it was who said Drogba is their only good player obvious didn't watch the game. Boka, Yaya & Kolo, Dindane, Eboue, Romaric and the Kone's are players any team would want. Good luck to the Netherlands though. I hope Van Persie and Robben keep up the good work, they deserve a good tournament.

Ok ok I'm late, but whatever

TRINIDAD and TOABGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we are the soca warriors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woyyyyyyyyyyy

okok enough bout that

Grrrrrr that first goal that England scored should not have been allowed , massive foul before that happened and the ref did nothing.
Jack Warner ( Fifa vice -pres and former politician in Trinidad) is steaming mad over that and got the Refs fired yesterday, lol.

Not crying over anything though, our boys played great, now if they could only score!!!!
Have not been home for the week, so couldn't really take in any matches but will now, so i can join the discussion.

B. Kone made Ivory Coast's goal.
