avoidable, but by the time he'd got round him the other defender would've been there... it was obstruction more than a bad tackle, Grosso just took the easier option. At the end of the day, Neill went to ground in the penalty box for a challenge and didnt get the ball - Penalty
And anyway, it was Italy playing, since when did they do anything that people 'agree' with.
oh and Adriano was offside all day long for that 2nd goal
I turned around as Adriano was celebrating, I'm sure they'll show replays.
Muntari is an excellent player, I hope someone gets him in the Premier League soon. Ghana have definitely been better first half, Brazil's defense has been a tad suspect but I don't think Dida is getting enough credit for that save, it wasn't purely instinctive. That's why Brazil win though, they can dominate as well as they can run up the end and score a goal.

They did what they needed to do but I do think Ghana were mostly the better team in that game, at possession and playing though. Their finishing was...well, besides being non-existent, it was poor.
Had they not been in possession of Muntari, they'd have been getting outplayed, he's a classy, useful player. Like the Makelele of the wing. If Brazil were going to go out, I'd have wanted it to be to a good team, and Ghana were one.
Still, Ronaldo eh? Fat bastard. I mean, leading World Cup scorer ever, one of the top scorers in this tournament, almost got a second, but still.

everyone says it shouldnt have been a penalty, but imo it was.Neill went down to make a challenge in the box and completely missed, Grosso had every right to go over him, he was lying infront of him at the time
I agree.. my first reaction was penalty.. and I still think it was after seeing it again.. as you say.. Neill dived in for a tackle in the box.. missed the ball by miles.. then stuck out his arm to the Italian players leg..
for me clear penalty.
What annoys me though is that the commentators in that game were really laying into Grosso for going over to easily.. then today they were saying that the Ghana player should have gone down to get a pen..

They weren't, they were saying he COULD have chosen to gone over there and had a great shout for a penalty.Whoever it was that was commentating said that he doesn't advocate cheating.

Yeah but saying he could have gone over IS clearly advocating cheating...
Why not say.. "He did well to stay up there.."
He said that he doesn't advocate cheating because his statement made it sound like he thought that he should have cheated.. covering his back you could say..
That is the way I interpreted it anyway.
