Italy are a sucky-suck-suck team with only a couple of world-class players - Buffon and Cannavaro, Zambrotta at a push. France totally dominated them throughout the game, and especially in the 2 periods of extra time. Zidane was floating like a butterfly until he unleashed the bull. It's sad because I thought it would be really beautiful if he won it for France. He's been one of the greatest players ever. So sad...Anyway, it has been a good World Cup, but I don't think there have been any great teams.
pirlo and gattuso are world class too.

and why did france deserve it? oh wait..they didnt.
Of the two there they deserved it more. They weren't the most deserving team overall, I'd say Germany or Argentina for that.

haha i love the fact you still wont admit theyre a good team after they've lifted the world cup for the 4th time.
Yeah, because it was the same team then as now, and always.
I'm not saying Italy have never deserved it, I'm saying this team don't.

you wouldnt be you without being stubborn.
You wouldn't be you without finding some way to defend Italy. Spade a spade and all that.

they conceded 2 goals throughout the whole tournament, an own goal and a penalty and scored a reasonable amount themselves... proceded through one of the toughest groups and although they had a pretty easy last 16 etc, they proceded to the finals where they beat France... Pirlo, Cannavaro and Buffon all up for players of the tournament as well, what would it have taken for you to say they are a pretty good team? come to your house and fellate you while doing keepy-ups?
Oh for crying out loud, look who they played before we chat about conceding goals. Czech Republic, against a semi-decent defending section they can't score, nor can Ukraine and nor can Australia. Or if they do, it's very hard for them. They couldn't beat a 9 man USA, let's keep bringing that up because it is an abysmal stat, they beat Ghana in what was the only impressive display bar Germany. Where they only picked it up in the dying minutes of the game.
They had a bye to the semis more or less, and still almost lost it. Easy last 16, then got to the finals and won on penalties. As a friend pointed out, they didn't even try to score for the first half hour.
I didn't say there are no Italian players I rate, I said the team didn't and don't deserve it. Cannavaro was excellent as was Gattuso, Toni could have been better but showed he is an asset regardless.
It's interesting you say that last bit, Df. Because being fellated while watching keepy-ups is probably quite entertaining when compared to your average Italy game. Being that I watch football with a view to being entertained, I don't like teams who don't entertain me. Italy never, ever have. Brazil didn't, this tournament, so don't act like there are exceptions here.

I'd like to hear what was said to Zidane before he did that.
Gattuso actually did so many cynical fouls, most didn't even bring a free-kick, let alone cards.
Italy suck, man. They did England style for the last hour of the match. It's like watching Serie A.
They've won it though, so congratulations. Especially on the heroic demolition of USA, Australia, and the epic quarter final against Ukraine.
Why is Materazzi walking as if Zidane isn't there? If you saw Zidane steaming toward you head first, surely you'd think "F*cking 'ang abiht.".
That said, look at the impact. I don't think Zidane headbutts him cleanly, I think he pushes him also, look at his hands. His head doesn't hit nearly early enough.
