It's obvious that it's a marketing ploy. "Unrated" doesn't mean it's so incredibly different than the original. "Unrated" means the film wasn't, or didn't need to be, submitted to the MPAA because it wasn't made available to the general public in cinemas, thus no rating. "Not rated" is the same as "Unrated", and they both mean little or nothing, content wise.
