Okay....I am happy you enjoyed the movie...but don't you think you enjoyed it for the wrong reasons?
Sorry Bardock....let me explain....
My reasons:
1) I love Jake Gyllenhaal
2) It has a fair portrayal of gay men, it doesnt go by the stereotype like everything else does
3) It was heartbreaking...i touched me emotionally very much
4) It reminded me of my own life, of my own struggles with love, sexuality, and social relations in general
5) Jake Gyllenaal is hott
6) The Drama man....u cant beat the drama in this movie
7) Bias came from all directions....it wasn't just pro-gay. It was pro-tolerance and pro-understanding.
8) I think the main message wasn't "Hey its okay to be gay"...i strongly beleive the message to be that Hatred blinds people, and social standards force people do make choices in life which would ruin everyhting for everybody (for example they got married to other women, and these marriages were a sham, and only ended in more pain)

Cartman predicted this movie when he said Hollywood liked movies about Gay cowboys that eat pudding.

Well since "Brokeback Mountain" has already been a huge success and is promoting the liberal homosexual movement across America by showing the side of homesexuallity one supposedly cant help.I thought since its fame and the things its already accomplished for its movement it should be discussed in the General Discussion forum to talk about the other aspects of the movie.
I have have not seen the movie but from what I read about the story and various synoposis's I've read I can tell that acting wise and storyline wise it may be quite the movie but it also may very well be good ol fashion homosexual propoganda.
The obvious message the film is trying to convey is that its alright to be a homosexual because the feelings you have cannot be helped and it trys to make people feel sorry for them because their lives are torn apart by a love they supposedly can't prevent.
I am personally against the movie because I am a firm believer that homosexuality is wrong and the movie trys to justify and give glory to something that deserves nothing of the sort. Not only is it just a movie about homosexuality but a very popular one as well already receiving multiple awards and nominations. And we all know its going to reign at the oscars.
One doesn't need to be assured that their feelings towards the same sex are natural and ok but that they can be delivered through the name of Jesus Christ.
Also the film doesnt even depict a positive story about homosexuality. It instead shows a story of two men who have lied and cheated on their wives with someone of the same sex. Not only does this promote homosexualuty but also fornication and both are an abomination to God's word.
I find your stance amusing when your name is Punker69

Raise your hand if anyone like Basic Instinct for the screenplay or musical score. Okay, you in the back, you can put your hand down now.
Yeah, but this movie actually won oscars. Without reason in my opinion, except for the benefit of holloywood patting itself on the back...no pun intended.
