"Aren`t you part of the Empire, Senator? I am afraid Andran has no longer the well-being of th Empire in mind, focusing on personal political gain. It would be a great pity if you follow him.
My mission is to make sure that Osokans never again brake the Imperial Peace, and I am willing to achieve this goal by any means necessary. And what have you actually seen that you give such authorative opinion? With how many Osokans have you spoken that were not Drakkon`s lackeys? Are the Lodgemasters participating in negatiations? Please share your knowledge with me, so I can feel as confident as you.

What if Drakkon is murdered after he raises taxes and shares Matadan`s fate?"

"Andran is interested in the welfare of Imperial citizens. The Emperor promised a new era of peace when he established the Empire, did he not? Wiping out an entire race is not exactly peaceful; I'm sure the Emperor would agree.

"I have spoken with few, as the majority support Drakkon. But they do not wish to disrupt the peace, if it means the survival of their world. And there is only one Guildmaster, and that is currently Drakkon, until the elections reaffirm this or change this; the Lodge Captains are who you are referring to, and they have been involved.

"I highly doubt Drakkon will be murdered."

"Why do you think that Emperor is intent on destroying the entire race? Such a thing can be done only as last resort, and he would deaply regret such an act.

Well, those Osokans seem to reveal in violence, so you can never know how long the stability will last. Surely the taxes issue should be taken into account. You are aware of its significance for starting the last civil war?

I would like you to speak with me about facts, not your opinions. I want to know more of the involvement of Lodge Captains. Perhaps you could help me meet with some of them?"

"There are three Star Destroyers in orbit, and their military contents are currently planetside. That's an awfully large army...

"And the Osokans are not so violent as to desire warfare with the Empire or amongst themselves. Matadan was a terrible leader and did not do anything to benefit his people, unlike his predecessors.

"And I am not sure if I can do that. You would be tampering with the mission."

"So we are here again. If your position is that Emperor shouldn`t have an input on those events, and so you have to keep his representative in the dark, the matters will only get worse." -Suddenly Commisar appears more sincere and personal, even a bit resigned.

(OOC note: Commisar makes sure he is alone with Galahad at this point of conversation, and Trebeis doesn`t listen)

"Do you think I really care that much about this dammed world? It isn`t my fault that Emperor has so much interest in the events here, apparently for personal reasons. If you help me avoid losing my favor in his eyes, I would do anything possible to avoid the unnecessary destruction and loss of life. You see, those military officers in the Taskforce like Coil and Trebeis are eager to prove themselves against the acclaimed warriors of Lanzar. Do you think that it is easy to stop them, even if Commision finalizes the Treaty? Commodore Nidar and Lord Vader would still find some excuse to invade and I will be the one to take the blame for angering the Senate. Perhaps we could cooperate to prevent the tragedy from occuring?"

Trouble there Melkor is that bodyguard of Galahad's. Family business, those Protectors. Incorruptible. Relic of the old era, really.

Galahad is a little taken aback by the sudden change of tact.

"You actually want to prevent this? Then let the Senatorial mission to their jobs."

Galahad pauses for a second.

"Personal reasons? What does the Emperor want with Lanzar?"

Well, Commisar treats the bodyguard as nothing more than Galahad`s tool. Why should he care, every Senator of this status and age should have firm control over his servants.

And this offer was hardly corruption, I think. It was something that could Melkor in more trouble if someone listens.

My reply still stands.

"Well, he seems to have some history with this world, even since he was a Chancellor. You are much more likely to remember those events than myself, considering our age diffrence.

But you still don`t understand the graveness of the situation, Galahad. Didn`t the presence of Lord Vader alert you? Until he arrived I had everything under control. But now..... Lord Vader is not as subtle or understanding person as I am, and it would be very difficult for me to stop him. Emperor`s will will not be denied. Andran`s effforts don`t matter- if his Highness doesn`t consider it satisfactory, he will press despite the possible uproar in the Senate, i know him quite well.

I need something to convince the Emperor that invasion is pointless. Help me, and the chance of favorable concusion to this mess increases greatly."

"The Emperor cannot simply override the Senate so easily. If the Senate establishes that Lanzar is a peaceful world and then the Emperor orders it bombarded, that would cause great distress!"

I wasn't saying the offer was corrupting. I was just saying that that Bodyguard won't leave Galahad's side for love nor money if you wanted to be truly alone. If you don't, that's fine.

"Well, if you really wish to underestimate Emperor`s resolve....

The problem is that most people involved don`t have such a wise view of situation as we two. Officers in the Taskforce want to prove themselves in battle, and Vader...... well, do you really trust in the Dark Lord`s of the Sith respect for the Senate? Vader is often like a rabid dog, and only Emperor can keep him in check. It was him who ordered the troops to descend on Lanzar in first case, and he is very intent on whatever he has in mind- but certainly not peaceful solution.

I need to convince the Emperor that the negotiations ensured the lasting peace on Lanzar. But I need to know all the important facts in order to make a convincing argument."

Well, Commisar is trying to project an image of a person that is trying to save his own ass( which is actually true). And his disgust for Vader and some officers seems to be sincere to an extent.

"The Emperor would reign Vader in if he felt the need.

"In any case, the Lodge Captains...they have been very involved in the Commission, but Drakkon does not want anyone to tamper with them. I have little power as an observer, so I have little chance of speaking with them, nor do I think I could organizing such a meeting for you."

"Hmm..... and I assume there is no way we could actually participate in the final part of the negotiations? Certainly someone as wise you should have a more active role."

Are the observers allowed to be present when Commision proceeds, Ush?

*Kills Galahad from a distance*

Trebeis, Standing off a bit on a unspoken order from the Commisar. Seems bemused by the snatches of Conversation he hears.

"Interesting..." He mumbles to himself.

"Observing is as active as I get, Commissar. I do not wish to obtain more."

"Well, Andran hardly allows me even this..... Perhaps we should go upstairs and observe the last part of Commision proceedings? I really need some basis to make a proper report to the Emperor. Otherwise Vader and Commodore would overule me and proceed with the invasion."

Blah- Gally
