Thing is there is no hypothetical force you're talking about. Only exists to the people that want it to. When Cloud attacks Seph he's staying airborne in one position doing a few clashes until pushed back, Im sure he doesn't have some magical force aiding him. Its just a FF thing. Theres no evidence for this fictitious theory.
See, I'm not sure why you're trying to shift this onto Cloud or Sephiroth, since if I saw the scene I'd likely have the same exact problem with it. Handwaving it as "a FF thing" does not make the problem go away, at least not to me. Further, if I'm picturing the scene you describe correctly, Sephiroth is not pushing Cloud in a downward direction, and said push is not being stopped in mid air by nothing.
With the Groundshaker, it is pushing downward on Sora, and Sora is not being moved, despite having nothing to brace against or otherwise prevent such movement. I honestly don't care about the course change at this point, it's about the fact that Sora is floating in mid air despite being acted on by an outside force. There is nothing else there to make this work, and claiming that Sora is strong because of it is faulty for this reason.
It does not make sense.
'Just don't try it on the ground.' <- All that lacks soo much logic.
I feel like I missed something, but can't identify it right now. Sora staying airborne despite being acted on in a downward direction on translates to physical strength how?

I'm not claiming he's stronger. Just that it does not make sense for him to become immovable in mid air.
At the end of the day he knocks it back, no matter what its a strength feat.
Yet there is clearly something else at work there. I would like to know what it is.

The only thing is the anime-esk FF style of combat that KH follows. If this force doesnt have anything to do with the strength needed to deflect the GS, why is it an issue? I can understand wanting to know the mechanics of this but not if its only to downplay the feat.

Dunno. On the one hand teh Link wank on this forum has severely crippled any hope of compassion for the character, but Sora is so goddamn anime it makes my balls bleed.
Though it was my impression that Sora was several magnitudes faster than Link.
Spoiler:mmm
ZOMG ZE LIGHTNING-TENNIS!

Well, Link doesn't typically fight in mid air. Sora apparently does not need anything to brace against, so Link would be disadvantaged there. On the ground, Link does have something to brace against, and I'm not going to go further on their respective strengths beyond that point.

I'm just confused about how it works. I was pointing out the fact that Sora is floating in mid air, and that it LOOKS like it has something to do with the feat. Sora is not being suspended in mid air through main strength, and I do not see how remaining in mid air is a strength feat for him.
