I'm not very well-versed in dbz knowledge but from what's on this thread and the couple of episodes I've seen, I wouldn't bother matching any character from dbz against a comic book character, seeing as how they apparently wipe out planets constantly.

I'd say he would just reduce cell to energy before absorbing him , he did it to a tea-set and a few of alica's statues easily when he first appeared.

Pure power isn't everything . Superman can break planets apart by himself , expose him to a dump truck of K-nite and and a ten year old could kick his ass

Not true. Lex had armor from Apocalypse with kryptonite that was designed to take down Superman and Supergirl and still got his ass kicked by both.

Does Cell have any kryptonite style weaknesses - as far as I can see, in a fight against Silver Surfer a whole lot of power is what you need. Silver Surfer can't just absorb a system destroying blast

how is surfer going to hit him with his speed, and how do you know that that works on him, ever see when majin buu tried to do that to evil buu he diverted the beam back since cell is 10 thousand times stronger then surfer he would do it also and turn surfer into a statue instead.

DBZ characters aren't as powerful as people think. Moving faster than the speed of light would allow a person to move faster than the other could think.

Sorry, but false bravado means very little to the actual fight. Cell has not proven to be as powerful as he claimed to be.

And by the time buu came about the main characters were even more powerful. Cell and freiza were like nothing to them.
