I believe Hulk has the potential to be the strongest physical being in the Marvel Universe, just look at what he can do when he is REALLY REALLY mad(like when he destroyed Onslaught´s physical form).
1. Mangog: How much negativity and strong emotion is there in existence, and where he has to be to tap it?
2. Juggernaut: Same thing, but for Cyttorak Power.
3. Wonder Man: Ionic Energy.
4. Surfer: Power Cosmic.
Etc.
But, it can only be applied to beings that have shown they can tap more power under certain conditions.

It's been stated that Hulk draws his strength from another universe as well. The radiation allows him to. Which would explain why his mass doesn't increase.
While he had it though, he was becoming stronger, but his durability was at an all time low.

That was only temporary. He had a pocket dimension linked to the Heroes Reborn Universe, but it almost killed him, so he had to lose it.While he had it though, he was becoming stronger, but his durability was at an all time low.
I was under the impression he always had that pocket dimension.

I think maybe they severed the link when Banner became reunited with Hulk.

The energy flux messed with his body and caused it to break down. I can't remember how they got rid of it at the top of my head, but he hasn't experienced any thing like again since.I think maybe they severed the link when Banner became reunited with Hulk.
Yeah, I knew all that. But I just thought it was that extra universe that caused him to overload and almost die.

As far as I know, the only indication that he has a pocket dimension is the implication from the handbooks saying his mass is presumably "extradimensional." Apparently She-Hulk and Doc Samson have the same description.Frankly, I find it to be a load of crap until it's actually stated on panel.
Okay, fair enough. But it would provide a somewhat plausible explanation for his strength.
