GL wrote him like an idot in many parts. Actually I dislike this aspect of TPM the most. Nothing like a bumbling 8year old to spoil a movie.
Anakin should have been a girl, played by Dakota Fanning, and then had a sex change between TPM and AOTC. << solves the Jake Lloyd problem, but not GL.
