MLB Talk

I heard that Joe Canseco tried to get in the room with Mitchell but security said that only media was allowed in.

EDIT: Another thing I have a problem with is that a lot of the report is a he said/she said evidence I don't think there was much solid proof like prescriptions or anything of the sort which would have made an impact but then again he really did not have much to work with. So before we all we condem them as guilty we need to think of the evidence against them.

Baseball has been owned.

I hope Selig does leave.

I believe he should step down.

After reading (skimming) the Mitchell report that I Downloaded from msn, I have no doubt that he, as a Redsox employee (Mitchell) has NO bias toward teams or players.

There is no actual proof that these players violated any policy or law. This should have never been made public. These players reputations are ruined no matter if they are vindicated or not.

MLB is to blame. MLB should have had a policy in effect a long time ago. (just like the NFL did) even though players knew from a moral stand point that it was wrong, there wasn't any guidelines or rules to follow.

MLB looked away .. And now they need to own up.

Excellent and agreeable points.

I know when I go to the ballpark in 08 as of now I will not be chanting "you take steroids" at anyone of these players until some better evidence comes forth.

I grew up in New York. I was a Yankee fan in the 80's when they sucked.

NY's World Series wins from '98 to 2000 are now tainted if these reports are actually true.

I'm so disgusted, I will never watch another MLB game or purchase another piece of merchandise related to MLB.

Bud Selig needs to step down.

There were so many incidences in the early 90's that they (MLB) ignored ..

It makes me sick.

Baseball was owned the day the AFL/NFL merged. uhuh

Roger Clemens — During the Radomski investigation, federal law enforcement officials identified Brian McNamee as one of Radomski's customers and a possible sub-distributor. In 1998, the Blue Jays hired McNamee as their strength and conditioning coach, and he served in that position from 1998 to 2000, during which time Clemens and Jose Canseco were on the team. Canseco told members of the Mitchell investigative staff that he had numerous conversations with Clemens about the benefits of Deca-Durabolin and Winstrol and how to "cycle" and "stack" steroids. Toward the end of a road trip Clemens approached McNamee and, for the first time, brought up the subject of using steroids. Clemens said that he was not able to inject himself, and he asked for McNamee's help. Later that summer, Clemens asked McNamee to inject him with Winstrol, which Clemens supplied. McNamee knew the substance was Winstrol because the vials Clemens gave him were so labeled. McNamee injected Clemens approximately four times in the buttocks over a several-week period with needles that Clemens provided. Each incident took place in Clemens's apartment at the SkyDome.

According to McNamee, from the time that McNamee injected Clemens with Winstrol through the end of the 1998 season, Clemens's performance showed remarkable improvement. During this period of improved performance, Clemens told McNamee that the steroids "had a pretty good effect" on him. McNamee said that Clemens also was training harder and dieting better during this time.

In 1999, Clemens was traded to the New York Yankees. McNamee remained under contract with the Blue Jays for the 1999 season. In 2000, the Yankees hired McNamee as the assistant strength and conditioning coach under Jeff Mangold. According to McNamee, the Yankees hired him because Clemens persuaded them to do so.

During the latter part of 2000 regular season, McNamee injected Clemens in the buttocks four to six times with testosterone from a bottle labeled either Sustanon 250 or Deca-Durabolin that McNamee had obtained from Radomski. McNamee stated that during this same time period he also injected Clemens four to six times with human growth hormone he received from Radomski, after explaining to Clemens the potential benefits and risks of use. McNamee believed that it was probably his idea that Clemens try human growth hormone. Radomski instructed McNamee how to inject human growth hormone. On each occasion, McNamee administered the injections at Clemens's apartment in New York City.

I read part of the reports and reviews today and I found out there were like 4 or 5 players who voluntarily spoke about steroids and wanted to be interviewed in the report. Of those 4 or 5 players only Frank Thomas wanted his name to appear that he was interviewed about what he knows.(there is no report of him using steroids) I applaud him for all he has accomplished without steroids.

Frank Thomas is prolly THE only one who isn't 'roid user.

I would like to pose the question as of now and the evidence available would anyone vote for Clemens or Bonds into the hall of fame?

Jose Canseco said that the report is incomplete because A-rod is not on it.

If A-Rod did, why wouldn't the attention whore (Canseco, the walking needle) mention A-Rod as a fellow abuser in his first book?

Don't get me wrong, I think HGH is used by most of MLB.

The only thing I could think of is that he did not have any "stuff" on A-Rod yet or that he wanted top keep the info he had for later knowing how good he A-rod would become so he could see another book.

But I seriously doubt (and hope) A-rod has used steroids. His numbers since he first full season (1996) are still very consistent and from what I can tell from a pic of him that i saw from 94 his body built looks very similar to his that he has now. If Canseco really cared for baseball and not making money for himself he could have told the Mitchell report what he knew.

If he had anything on A-Rod it would have spilled in his first book .. I doubt if he knows anything new concerning A-Rod..

No baseball player is going to tell Canseco a thing since he released his book. They all know he's a rat that wants to make money.

In my eyes Canseco is worse than Bonds.

Same here.

I'm not sure out Roger Clemens being in the report....Barry Bonds can rot in hell however.

Well Pettitte admitted to steroid use so I am willing to bet Clemens used them too. And Alex Rodriguez will be on 60 minutes and was asked if he used steroids he flat out responded with a no. Then asked if he ever considered them he said no.
