Not the lowest rated ever because the Phillies have the 4th highest television rating or something like that. But then again the Rays can't even sell out a game so that negates however many Phillies fans are watching.

Other than Philadelphia and Tampa Bay, and the few straggler fans scattrered thoughout the country, no one really cares about this World Series. L.A. and Boston are major teams with long histories and the Manny storyline. Ratings would have been through the roof on that one. Still, I hope the Rays win it, they have exciting young players.

Well, let me just say respectfully, who gives a **** about the MLB fatcats and their ratings?

The two best teams in baseball (AL & NL) will be in the World Series. And the Phillies are my team. That’s enough for me.

Um they do? One thing a lot of people forget about sports is they arnt done strictly for our entertainment. They are a business and if that business ever started to not put millions in peoples pockets it would go away. (obviously an extreme example 1 bad WS matchup wont kill the sport, just making the point)

Damn, the Red Sox just had an amazing comeback in game 5.

If it was the Dodgers vs. the Rays it would be the same thing as Phillies vs. Rays. More people aren't going to watch the Dodgers/Rays WS because they want to see the Dodgers play. The only reason more people would watch the Dodgers vs. Red Sox is because of Manny playing his old team.

Damn it. I wanted TB to finish the BoSox off... 🙁

I think it's about time someone OTHER than the BoSox was in the World Series... 😐

True, except for the fact that the Dodgers are more of a baseball historical team than the Phillies. Plus, there's so many Dodgers-haters throughout the country, they would tune in to hopefully watch them get beat, LOL. 😆

Well Dodgers have the hole "LA" thing going on but you are prolly right. Boston vs LA would have been huge though now it will just be good baseball and unfortunately for the game that isnt good enough for the average person to watch.

If the Wildcard teams don't deserve to be there, then they wouldn't have a shot. The fact that they can win shows that they do deserve the shot.

again your NOW sending the message that its okay to finish second and a team can NOW back into it.In the good old days,i could have been excited about the red sox not finishing first knowing I would not have to see them in the playoffs again.getting tired of the sox being in the playoffs,NOW they dont have to worry about being first anymore cause they can back into it like they did in 2004. 😠 I just feel it that they are going to now go and and beat the rays and win the series again thanks to that moronic wildcard. 😠 if they beat the rays, they are homefree, the rays will be their toughest test especially since the rockies last year said that having such a long layoff really hurth them being sharp in the world series against the sox last year.those long layoffs hurt more than help and it will with the phillies as well.

The layoff shouldn't hurt the Phillies because they aren't even hot. Howard, Utley, Rollins, Burell are all not hitting like they are capable of. We won because of the pitching, and long layoffs don't really affect pitching. It actually helps you if you are Cole Hamels, who pitches amazing on extra rest.

Could not disagree more about the wildcard for 1 very simple reason. Very Very Very Very Very often it happens where a division has 2 maybe even 3 GREAT teams. It would be stupid to allow only 1 of these teams to get in when other teams that did not earn as much throughout the year are going to be playing. Having 1 Wild Card spot is the perfect solution (unless you want to throwout automatic bids to divions winners and just award the top "x" number of teams playoff spots the WC must stay.

I wish there were more playoffs teams allowed in.

I bet that the Yankee fans out there have at least wised up that the wild card is moronic especially after 2004 and the way the sox are on their way to backing in AGAIN to win another series,They'll win it all,you can count on that. The Rays were the best team that could beat them, their choking now in the playoffs and so will the Phillies. The american league teams always give the sox the most problems in the playoffs. The sox will be loose and relaxed and the Phillies will be tense and nervous just like the devil rays have been recently. When the sox go on to win the series again,I cant believe Im saying this, but Im going to start hating them as much as I have always hated the yankees. It sucks, you think because they dont have Mike Lowell or Manny Ramirez anymore, they wont duplicate their success again yet they dont miss a beat without them. 😠

the wildcard just plain sucks as any true baseball fan knows and also because now, teams like the sox can relax at the end not worrying about being the best they possibly can be since they know they can back into the series now. 😠

Any true fan? You speak for yourself. And back in without trying? Do you watch baseball? The WC keeps A LOT of teams alive and trying EXTREMELY hard. While others have the division won/lost and games dont matter they all quit, the WC keeps everyone going hard.

You say teams like the Sox don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Did the Dodgers? They played like shit this year and their division was a joke there were better teams who "Earned" more and played better all year sitting at home while they were in the playoffs so how is that fair then? Also do you even like sports? You really only show up here when you wanna gripe about something.

holy crap they are using David Price to close!??!?!?! talk about pressure on a kid.

Woot woot!!

Boston has been eliminated woohoo!! 😄

Now the question is, for a Yankees fan like me, do I root for the Rays or the Phillies? 😐
