The classic defenders could defeat darkseid if strange was willing to take things as far as he could such as summoning Mephisto and Blackheart to help with the fight, but strange wouldnt do that because the cost would be too high...however I think conventional strange and ss could definatly give darkseid a match...in order for Namor and Hulk to be a factor, strange would have to somehow mask their presence so they could perhaps do some kind of sucker attack on darkseid then surfer and strange could fire away...Current surfer especially could do some damage since he has been stripped of his remorse

I used to believe Darkseid was untouchable, but he's not.
All it takes is significant energy output/manipulation to return his ultimate attack, and once that connects, he's pretty much out the match.
And when did Darkseid prove superior to the Promethian Giants?
Cuz i know he scared the Lords of Chaos once, but never the PGs to my knowledge.

When the hell has Darkseid > Celestials?
I seriously doubt these Promethian giants have laid the smack down on something as powerful as the Asgardian Destroyer when it confronted the host and was defeated with ease.
That has odin (galaxy buster) and everyone else iN Asgard in it and it was curbstomped by one Celestial. not even the strongest one either.
And yet DC has an equivalent in power to them and DS has beaten them?
