They are based on many things. And first of all judgment and vengeance are human characteristics and flaws.......a god would have no use for them. To have such flaws would be beneath it......It's just common sense....and since I believe everything is made of energy and energy cannot be destroyed but only changes form......we all just go to the same type place......I guess I believe a little similar too Eastern religions but not quite all there because I also believe in some metaphysical things........sooooo I'm just a conglomerate...

But if that book is written by ur master,tellin u how ur conduct shud b,then y not just follow n that doesn't mean ur not thinkin by urself.U read the book,understand it n think.Only then can u follow it.

Persuading people to do "right", speaking the "truth", and refraining from doing "wrong" deeds is not fact nor fiction. It's a point of view or set of beliefs. But that in itself doesnt make it truth either.

Debbie and my point is that, you don't know what the truth is. You think you know the truth, but you can never know.

The point is, people who arive at textual truth (truth from a book like the Qur'an) arrive at it by repeating it until it becomes true. To defend themselves, people can do nothing but repeat it back. The best part is, since everyone interprets these things differently, thier random interpretaiton is the only one thats absolutely "correct"

Lies often make people feel much better. Sometimes it just better to spare them the pain....like religion, which imhumbleo is a blatant lie.

Well who knows what some people might try to claim. When I see "written by your master" that's the only thing that comes to mind. That or he had others write down his will for him. Either way, arguing that one should know that god can't write books to a person who isn't convinced of god's existence is kind of a moot point. 🙂

Current day events encoded within only a few verses at small increments. They were discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls, the true Old Testament scriptures. The possiblities of them being by chance are astronomical, something like 1 in 1 trillion. Examples being the Oklahoma city bombing and the name Timothy McVeigh as well as the 9 o'clock in the morning all encoded in Genesis 34-36 or the names of Jesus and all the disciples all within Exodus 29:13 through Exodus 30:20 as well as within Isaiah 53 a chapter that ironically is a messianic prophecy. That is but a few. It is almost enough to shake one's beliefs. I might start a thread on it later.

YEAH. The bibile predicts terrorist activities! That must mean its a terrorist book!

I think it may be an area that requires more study but undeniably provides much compelling evidence.
