With all the things in the world though... all the history.... I don't know, predicting the names of the Apostles and the Oklahoma bombing is well, a bit down the list of the things that have happened in human history. If that is the best it can come up with I almost imagine a code that says "A man named Tom will have toast for breakfast" - why not put something really exceptional in? Something that changed the course of human history?

And I have always wondered, it is easy to predict things that have already happened. No one has been able to really give an answer if the is some code that refers to a future event (at the rate they are going it will be something like "man kicks dog."😉 They can look back and go "oh! It is predicting the Oklahoma bombing... but I don't know if it is predicting anything beyond 2006... we'll have to wait and see if anything happens that fits in"

What is easy to predict is random common place events that people can then project onto a large range of random events.

The point is, people who arive at textual truth (truth from a book like the Qur'an) arrive at it by repeating it until it becomes true. To defend themselves, people can do nothing but repeat it back. The best part is, since everyone interprets these things differently, thier random interpretaiton is the only one thats absolutely "correct"

Lies often make people feel much better. Sometimes it just better to spare them the pain....like religion, which imhumbleo is a blatant lie.

Out of all the books that exist on this planet only the Bible is divine in origin. That is what I believe. It is the only work that came from God. It is kind of amusing that it is the all-time, number one best-seller. Go ahead God!

All you are is just quoting a book against book.......this will never end unless all look at the origins of those books and the historical view at the time...........hmm Anthropology.

It's the best seller for the wrong reasons though... Christian organizations are buying copies by the millions world wide and handing them out to people in an attempt to spread their faith, the Gideons place a bible in every new hotel and motel across America. It's not like every Bible purchased is purchased by a person that is interested in reading it. Technically speaking, Mao Tse-Tung's book is the worlds best seller as far as people buying it for the purpose of reading it themselves.

Christian books by Tim Lehay................he doesn't even know the facts of scripture, and yet they are making movies based on his books.

And I believe that if the Bible is really the word of God then it is only logical all the other Holy Texts out there might also be the words of their respective God/gods/Enlightened individuals.

That none of the are genuine in that sense. Confirming one remarkable claim simply because that claim says it is true while ignoring a mountain of other claims strikes me as odd.

And the whole "all time Best seller" is deceptive. In popularity polls the Bible rarely comes first. Then there are people debating about which is the most "valid" form of the Bible - if some of them got there way anywhere from a quarter to half the worlds Bibles would not be countered. And the fact Bibles get put in hotel rooms, and mass produced for Churches etc - it is deceptive statistic that does not actually speak fathoms about the Bible's worth.
