Gears of War

I finally beat Gears of War. I would have the week it came out but I was playing online too much. General RAAM is hard. I had to take it down to Casual (playing the entire game on Hardcore) and was still getting my @$$ handed to me. I won out of sheer luck.

the commercial for this game looks great, but I don't have an X-box so I can't try it out. Too bad but no reason to buy an X-box ofc.

I jbeat General RAAM on insane this morning whileeating a bowl of cereal. I don't get what you guys are complaining about. It took me about 6 minutes to do.

I would buy an X360 just for gears of war... pure hotness..but I want a wii first.. 🥷

having big doubts that Halo3 will outdo GoW... but since H2 was the 'definitive xbox live experience'... I wonder if it will take up that cup again

I just saw the trailer again and again i went DAMN that's gotta be good!

Halo 3 better be outstanding, because GOW is just fascinating. The beta multiplayer will be available this spring so we will get a taste of it soon enough.

you really dont know how good fear is until you play it, its amazing. why it didnt get higher than a 9 on gamespot i dont know. gears of war is good, its not that good though. its probably a lot better online.

Hmm well I only 'liked' the first one.. the reason everyone liked 2 was purely due to overhype.. and of course the simple and intuitive matchmaking system... 2 seemed promising to me because of the dual wield and more complex vehicle features.. but IMO they never really fixed it enough to make all of the weapons equally desirable.. so there goes that...

while I'm on the weapons subject... is there any weapon in gears of war that you guys find overpowered (i.e. imbalanced)?...

if I had to throw one off the top of my head... I'd say the Hammer of Dawn.. from the videos I've seen, even if the weapon targets an eyelash they get wiped in 1 shot

There really isnt one weapon that is the best to have or guaranteed to kill. Every weapon is balanced out. The hammer of dawn requires you to be outside in order for it to work because it requires a clear satellite view. Every weapon has a weakness, when you get to finally play it specially online you will realize how balanced it is.

The hammer of dawn is an auto kill but the ammount of time before it actually hits is dangerous. Snipers could headshot you during this or many other dreadful and often results might torment you. If anything I find the frag tag to be a beat annoying, but since there are few 'nades around it isn't a problem.

Teh torque bow is frigan overpowered...

All you have to really do is just hide behind cover while charing up the arrow, then blind fire and WHAM, it's over... 😬

You have little ammo, but when your only playing against 4 people...

The torque bow isn't overpowered. You have very little chance of hitting a moving target and blind fire is hardly successful. The time it takes to charge up the bow you can easily be chainsawed.

The people online are just that good, really.

I'll be doing that duck/crouch run thing, and I;ll STILL get beaned in the head. One dude even got me while I was trying to snipe him, from across the level. Canals, i think. I was on one bridge one the other side of the level, and he was on the other and he still got me...

I did the same thing to him later. The torque Bow can be really rigged if you get good at it.

Get to the Torque Bow before they do. That's what I always do when I find out a particular player is whoring a specific weapon. You think the torque bow is bad? Tag Grenades are cheaper, and 10 times easier to pull off then the Torque Bow.

But the victim might get a chance to suicide-bomb your ass, right?

Well any gun is owerpowered in an skilled gamers hand.

Problem about the torque bow is that it can easily be countered with an sniper rifle. While the guy is charging, pop him in the head.

Or just use cover alot.
