Global warming, wake up America
I'd be surprised if noone has made a similar thread before.
Global warming is the biggest threat this planet has ever faced. It will not be solved easily and it will not be solved at all if not all nations cooperate. Actions must be done swiftly, and small actions only won't help.
The United states of America are one of the countries in the world that pollute the most. You must statute an example that the rest of the world can follow. I'm especially talking about India and China, two countries that might pass you in polluting soon enough. Simply imagine 1.3 billion Chinese people with cars. That means a lot of greenhouse gasses. We in the west can't deny them the wealth we have been living in for decades unless we make drastic changes in our way of living. The U.S must wake up, and they must do it quick.
We are doomed. There is nothing that can be done, reducing c02 emissions by the amount that is needed is impossible simply because of China and the USA. I say bring on the sun, bring on the floods and disasters because hell there is nothing that can be done unless the 3 biggest polluters do what needs to be done... Of course there is no proof we even contribute to global warming.

Downside here is the only way to be really sure we are causing it and we can solve it is to actually try solving it.
Would work I'd guess if the direct results of trying it wouldn't be hundreds of millions of deaths and ruined economy's.

Our generation will probably only live to see the consequences of global warming, our children will get hell, and their children might just live to see a change. But if people keep being as selfish as some of you guys who wrote here, then you're giving your children more then hell. You might as wel lskip the part of getting children, they won't be happy to live in that world anyway.
And to Mr. "Yay Global Warming" (Evil Dead) there have been many researches on the ups and downsides of global warming and trust me. The downsides are twice as many.

It's not beyond all doubt that it's human made yet, even if it is we don't know what we can do to stop it, and how great our sacrifices would have to be.
There is a huge chance that no matter what we will do nothing will change, and there is a huge chance that if we do something we are going to kill millions in the process.
The real question is, is the chance that we caused global warming and the chance that we can still stop or even reverse the effect, worth our economy and hundreds of millions of lives?

No, we have not proven it. At least not in the way you want. In fact, the evidence indicates that Global Warming is not influenced by humans and history shows us that warm periods have always been very great and fruitful periods.

we may have found the source of how it started but on some real talk we dont have anything to stop it. i dont mean to steal an act from the day after tomorrow but do you really think the whole world will just drop factories and oil? hell no. part of the problam is pollution but imagine sun spots also contributing to this event.
